Not everyone who quotes from the bible is bashing...
I generally will look up the verse, to make sure that the information I am sharing is accurate and correct, not an interpretation of my own. The thought of the verse usually comes to mind first. I do share quotes at work, and have had people come up to ask questions on various topics. Some do play the part of the "devil's advocate". I generally do not get upset and just enjoy sharing some of the things I've found. It is not that I'm "forcing" it down peoples throats. I'm just known to be a Christian and a bible reader, and they sometimes take the opportunity to ask questions. Isn't that also true on here?

Some I can quote, others I need to look. Age you know. I can remember key words to many Scriptures and with those words I am able to quickly find the verse I need by looking in the Bible Words Indexed section of my Bible. I am not a so called Bible basher but a disciple of Jesus doing the work he commissioned me to. Do not the professors at universities quote from the books they teach from, where's the difference other than they are teaching people how to earn a living and I am teaching people how to live.

Does the " bashing " come because of hard heads?
Or should I ask hard hearts?
What does it have to " bash " through? Inability to understand? Refusal to see reason? A hatred of God? Self exaltation? Rejection of good? Stubborn pride? False gods?
Or is it rather hyper sensitivity that makes normal things appear massively exaggerated? Or gross intolerance of other views?
Or perhaps it is the over strong reaction to the prickings of conscience? The emotional reaction to the fear that conscience might be awakened?
Interesting word that you use, " basher ".

I think they have a pocket sized bibled stashed away on their being . So they can whip it out and quote from it so as to impress us when the occasion arises.
Billy Graham was the best preacher remembered everything off by heart.

I rarely quote, as I have read it many times and know the basics.
If I quote I look it up and provide a link for clarification.

I think they have it all instilled in their brains after many years of brainwashing. They are nothing more than bibles on legs. Walking, talking bibles for the most part I would say.
