Narrowed down to buying Aperion Speaker pairs to go with Denon 2807. Got to decide between Aperion 533, 633 and 533PT. The 533PT needs to be plugged in but it has very good reviews. Welcome any comment.

I haven't heard Aperion for myself but looking them over and reading the reviews I am impressed. I do believe that a well informed factory direct to consumer purchase can be a wise way for some of us poorer folks to get high end audio as long as the product has been well reviewed by reputable magazines. I ordinarily say don't buy speakers you have not heard but something like this qualifies as a possible exception (plus you can return them if you dislike them). About 15 years ago I bought some RA Labs speakers (Roy Allison's brand, no longer available) this way and it proved to be an incredible bargain! I don't think I would go for the 533's since they only get down to 70 Hz. The subwoofers in the 533PT's are 8" subs and though subs this size are great for music I like bigger ones for home theater. My inclination would be to go with the 633's and get a beefy HSU subwoofer to go with them (something like the vtf-mk3 [link below]). HSU is a direct to consumer company that specializes in subwoofers that have gotten Rave reviews. Their subwoofers are perhaps the best bargain one can find in the audio world. If you do get a subwoofer other than the Aperion brand this will probably affect the color you choose for the Aperion speakers. You can always match black speakers and a black sub of any brand.

Hi. Have you actually listened to the ones you have in mind with music you are familiar with and have you compared them to other brands in your price range. You have to decide because everyone has different opinions on speakers and what suits one may not suit another. They all add their own coloration to the sound.A classic example is Bose .You either love them or you can't stand them.So at the end of the day you must decide, after all you have to live with them
Cheers.
