I'm looking for the best resolution, color, durability, etc. I don't necessarily need the cheapest, just the best.

haha Orite. MiniDV sugguest use one time recording only and throw away. Repeatance record, the quality of recording drops due to not all frame are properly eased by your camcorder head.

To be honest, they are all made in the same place, which is a factory in China. Most of the time there is one, maybe two, distributors that makes them, then the companies add their own logos and packaging afterward.
I have found TDK's, available @ great price @ Costco, to work excellent. Sony's are fabulous too, but much more pricey.

you might consider buying the miniDV tapes that are marketed to Television stations and videographers. both Panasonic and Sony have up-grade DV products intended for professional use in their broadcast line equipment. Internet sellers should have Sony DVM-60EXL for $7.75 and Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ for $4.00 when purchased in small quantities.
