The Koran was decided upon many centuries after the illiterate Mohammad died. It was composed entirely of verbal accounts - put to paper by those who had never seen, or met him.

No. It's also up for debate whether Shakespeare wrote his plays, and he came a thousand years later. But so what?

Islam took hold because of the power of that book, just as Christianity took hold because of the power of its texts. Do you suppose it matters that practically all the books in the Bible are pseudepigraphical? If you "believe" Moses wrote the Pentateuch, or that the Koran was taken down from dictation by the angel Gabriel, you're a fool - because there is no means of verification of these statements; and "faith" in their veracity is worse than pointless.

If the Bible or the Koran or any other text possesses any value at all, it's in the text. The only test is to take it up and read for yourself. If you find illumination therein, it's justified itself. People who concern themselves with pseudo-history as an article of religion simply have no grasp of what "spirituality" really means.

I'm not a muslim, but Socrate's history is really sketchy since he never wrote anything, along with Julius Caeser and other ancieint people. Don't dismess the historical accuracy of Mohammad, just because he is the founder of Islam.

Muhammad did not write down the koran, he taught it verbally (in the verbal tradtion) to his follower's whom latter wrote the teachings down (after Muhammed's death).

In fact, the christian scriptures were also transmitted verbally, before they were later written down. This is why there is so much debate about which authors actually wrote the new testament scriptures.

Religious in the world were the speech of hollyman or the statement of hollyman, of which were written by human. There must be descrepancies from the original. Bible written by Moses, Veda written by the followers of Hindru, Budhaist sutra written by his followers, Kuran written by their follower Mohamad Ali who had 2 wifes and his 2nd wife created another race of Muslim.
So to exam the trueth from the books or sutras are meaningless. As Budha said even you follow my steps to do, you still never be a budha. You must understand your heart instead of understand the thing out of your heart. Your heart is same as other creatures heart. Their heart is same as yours. We are quite simular, or of the same not exactly same. Such as the rail of the earth going round the sun; the direction is indeed but every round will have a little bit different. You cannot said the earth is not follow the trail but you cannot said it is the same trail it run.

Muhammad as per Hadith is a warrior. Why would anyone consider a warrior to be a prophet? He forced his ideology into the masses! Koran is a big joke taken seriously, unfortunately!

We know for a fact that Muhammad did not scribe the Qu'ran because Muhammad (as a historical figure) was illiterate.

Mohammed (PBUH) was illiterate, couldn't read or write, and there are a lot of evidence showing that no human being could write a similar book to Quran, you can do some research.

The moh..was illiterate...he spoke it and someone who could write..wrote it down...That guy...said it's the truth..so I believe him. NOT

And what do we know of The moh...born (circa 600 after Jesus) and parents died when he was quite young...we know nothing of his childhood...as young adult..married a woman with money...and became a caravan manager...wandered around...for years...started hearing voices.....paid someone to write it down.....was run out of town...medina..for being a person who riled up the peasants..walked north with maybe 200 followers...(out of work caravan people...lol..just kidding)...set up his tent in mecca....and taught islam...If memory serves, and it does, mecca was much more tolerant of what he was teaching than medina. Moreover, and don't quote me: mecca had the black meteorite...The moh..got the arabs to stop fighting each other and to go fight the jews, turks, Christians, and just about everyone else.

Then somehow, he ends up on a horse in Jerusalem...at the dome of the rock..site..and 'rides' into heaven....

And Mary Magdalene came to the frightened, demoralized disciples and declared..."I have seen the Lord !!!! He is risen". And a Great Religion was started from these humble beginnings.....Wow !!!!
