Frequently throughout the day, every day, especially right now ....
My husband survived a massive heart attack and complete arterial blockage this week, so I have said many thanks to God that he is still alive, and in fact, up and around, and been given a second chance.
Even though I am not healthy, I still thank God for life. I may live in constant pain and limited mobility, but I am still alive and have lots to offer my loved ones and others.

About the last time I thanked god for that was 14 years ago.
I did feel very fortunate to be alive in this time in history and spoke with my daughter about it yesterday.

To god? uh... perhaps when I was a young adolescent.
but- I thanked my mother just this Tuesday for bringing me into this world and raising me.
Does your god really want 6 billion people to thank him? Seems rather egotistical for an omnipotent being, no?

Never. But I have thanked my ancestors & parents for their good genetics, I have thanked the doctors who work hard insuring the health of people in this country and the organic farmers that grow the vegetables I buy.

I'm alive because my parents reproduced. I'm healthy because I watch what I eat and exercise everday.

Not to God, but to the universe - yesterday - and I'll do it again as I go to bed tonight and review all the lovely things that happened today.

If god is responsible for my health, then he must be responsible for the 10,000 people that die each day due to starvation, no?
