Because I've studied Bible carefully and it simply doesn't make sense.

Do you imagine the title Lord makes Him more appealing? Actually, I find it quite repulsive. The last thing this planet needs is another self-appointed self-righteous tyrant.
Organized religion is responsible for much (most?) of the evil in this world. This is self-evident from even a cursory inspection of human history. If the horrors of the Catholic dark ages and Inquisitions isn't enough, consider the evil done by Protestant witch hunters in God's name. If you are still unconvinced that religion is a curse upon humanity, consider this. In the last few years Fundamentalist Christians have manipulated Federal Law to make a few stem cells in a petri dish the moral equivalent of a living human being. Now millions of human beings, afflicted with a variety of diseases and disorders have lost the best hope of an end to their suffering. This is because religious people are so narrow-minded they are unable to understand the principle of compromise. They are dictatorial absolutists who are unable to accept that serving the greater good is preferable to blind obedience to ancient superstition.
Of the Trinity, only Jesus ever actually existed. God is completely imaginary and so is the Holy Spirit. The very idea that any of these entities are relevant to modern life is utterly ridiculous. It may sound arrogant but it is also true that there is a strong correlation between intelligence and atheism. The higher one's IQ, the less likely they will believe in God. There is even a stronger correlation between education and atheism. The more education one receives, the less likely they will believe in God. At the upper limit, 94% of the National Academy of Sciences (America's best and brightest) are explicit atheists.
Now I ask you, what kind of a world do you want to live in? One where the preisthood defines the true nature of reality and millions suffer for the sake of ancient superstition, or one where real live humans make their own decisions, using rational thinking and rigorous logic?
I choose freedom......

The reasons are as varied as the people.
In many cases, we dislike the idea of a carrot and stick -- do this or suffer -- and we back away from one who offers it.
There is also a logical problem with a mix of threat with the claim that God, who set up the threat in the first place, also loves those he threatens. That threat doesn't make sense if someone loves you.
Still others have believed the claims, or at least held to the principles, only to find a life far more painful than it has to be, and for no other reason than obeying rules that are outdated and otherwise unhelpful in life. Those folks often walk away and wish to hear no more of the pitch.
And of course, there are those who were raised in a different faith and find it very satisfying even as you find yours satisfying. They see no reason to change.
There's more, I'm sure, but I have to go catch a bus now.
Peace.

People who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, embrace His teachings and give Him the honor and the glory have the genuine faith that God is real and all around us. Faith is an objective concept which give immense comfort and solace to many. I live in the same house as an elderly WestIndian lady Pastor who regularly feels the spirt and often holds all-night service by herself singing, praying and reading scripture. I do not feel the Spirit myself but her beliefs and devotion do not disturb me in any way and the fact that I am not yet saved does not cause her to think any the less of me as a human being, and she does not try to 'convert' me. Jesus commanded His followers to proclaim the gospel but it is left to the individual to decide whether he/she wants to follow the gospel teachings. In my own case, I do not reject the Lord Jesus Christ - I just do not feel the Joy of the Spirit that the born-again people feel. When I attend church in Jamaica with my Jamaican wife, I enjoy the service and the atmosphere and the joy of the gathering but I do not yet feel the Spirit. If it bothers you so much that some people reject Christianity, maybe you should make it your mission in life to bring the Gospel to those non-believers so that they might feel the joy and fulfillment that you obviously feel.

Because the more I study Christianity, the less sense it makes to me, from the top right on down.
If Jesus was THE only way to God, then God was very bad at getting out the memo. Millions of people lived and died long before Jesus came along, and millions more never had a chance to hear about Him after His supposed birth, death, and resurrection. My own ancestors never heard of Him until the missionaries showed up... and if the worship of their own Gods was good enough up to that point, I see no reason why it isn't good enough for me.

To use the context of the asker: Because God allows them to reject him.
If men had no freedom to reject God, neither would they have the freedom to choose to follow him. We would have no choice whatsoever, and this lifetime would be wasted on us.
Yes, the arrogance exhibited by both Christians and non-Christians, as well as by every other kind, is incredible at times... but, as you the asker believe in God, you shall also understand that God exercises both justice and judgment in his sphere. If we believe that God exists, then we would have to be confident that all this proud defiance against him will be answered in his day of wrath.
But that vengeance does not belong to men, and a sincere believer should be as complacent and serene in his beliefs if nobody believed God as if everybody believed him, even though he may be filled with pity for his fellows.

What you believe is probably a reflection of where you were born and what you were told when you were growing up. Many atheists are actually well-educated, ex-christians.
The bible is a rcompilation of selected parts of whole bodies of scripture, written by at least a hundred and fifty different people in dozens of different places at different times, many centuries apart, and for different reasons, colors what its authors wrote. Yet that simple fact is widely ignored, both by people who naively follow what they read in it as the inerrant word of God, and by more liberal scholastic theologians, who seek to understand its historical context as well as a body of doctrinal scripture, which they often blindly follow, even though they know full well its messy origins.

The MAJORITY of the world do not accept Jesus....so if you go by majority rules, Jesus lost the election.
Jesus did not fulfill bible prophecy.....
Jesus did not fulfill his own prophecy. He said he would be buried for three days and three NIGHTS......
Jesus weakened the Golden Rule as stated by Hillel. A true prophet or messiah would not do that.
It is not by faith alone. Belief in Jesus is not going to save you if you live a sinful life. Mussolini believed in Jesus. You think he went to heaven?
The four gospels have so many contradictions, it would take a month to list them all.
Jesus cursed a fig tree in the spring because it did not have fruit. Pretty unreasonable if you ask me...
That is about all I can come up with in FIVE minutes.....

I converted to Christianity, but came to my senses after a couple of years. Christianity insults "God" and insults "Jesus". Undernearth the pretty God-loves-you veneer, Christianity depicts "God" as a sadistic monster and "Jesus" as a confused meglomaniac. Personally I believe Jesus existed and that he was an enlightened man who taught certain truths, like other enlightened men have done throughout history. I think he would be horrified to know what people have done in his name and the religion they built around him. Other people want no part of Christianity for other reasons, but this is mine: it's a cruel and superstitious religion that degrades "God".

For me personally, because it's so preposterous. Why would it be so shocking to YOU, that we don't believe what you believe? I'm not shocked that you are christian...or that the next guy is Buddhist, and the next is Hindu or Muslim...? Everybody has a mind of their own to make up. You shouldn't waste your time going around so dumfounded that the whole world doesn't share your view. Not meant to be snide, just save yourself the stress of trying to understand other's beliefs! I'm a results based person, I can't rely on faith.
