Do the gospels not differ on their portrayal of jesus. E.G- Mark has him giving out parables while John (written up to 50 years after Mark) gives no parables. Also, does the NT not contradict much of the OT? How can a perfect god change?

added detail- in the prophesy (OT) it says the messiah will be called Immanuel (god be praised(?)) but the angel tells Mary to call him Joshua (from god(?))

the old and new testaments compliment each other - they do not contradict each other. The old testament is the new concealed, and the new is the old revealed.
As for the Gospels, they are all told of Jesus from the perspective of the writer. None of them are entirely comprehensive. All tell certain aspects of Jesus life and ministry. None have contradictions. Mark was most moved by the parables, and so he told about them. John was more interested in the Spirit of God manifest in Jesus' person. Both are relevant to understanding the gospel in it's entirety.

blessings :)

Matthew emphasises Jesus as "King of the Jews"
Mark emphasises Jesus as a servant
Luke emphsises Jesus as human
John emphasises Jesus as God incarnate.

Each gospel writer will use that which best shows the individual emphasis.

As for the rest of your question -- if you read the Bible, you just might find out for yourself that so-called contradictions just aren't there. Why take someone elses word for it -- find out for yourself!

God didn't change! He is the same today, yesterday, and forever! We weren't obeying the law so God had His Son Jesus Christ come down to earth and sacrifice himself on the cross so we may all have eternal life! Besides that when you have 4 individual writing about someones life aren't they all going to see it in a different way! They were also writing for different audiences!

Here's a list of 384 contradictions:

With enough mental gymnastics, nothing ever contradicts anything else. Are the names different? This source used the title, not the name. Is number of enemies slain different? This source counts just the men, that one also the women and children. Etc etc.

No contradictions, just poor understanding by unguided reader. (guidance provided by Holy Spirit)

He doesn't change. We change the interpretations to suit our own needs.

He doesn't change...EVER.

Show examples of contradiction, and if you look at it sensibly, you will see that you looked out of context.
