Have you confessed Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God your Lord & Savior. That He shed His Own blood for remission of your sins. That since He was sinless, He raised from the dead a new everlasting body, soul & spirit.
If you have done this then Jesus has washed your sins away with His Blood and you are made the righteousness of Christ. Nothing you can do or not do can change this. When God looks at you, God sees the righteousness of Christ.
So, then if you still have a drinking problem, it is because you don't know who you are in Christ. Remember, the old man (drunkard) died, His blood washes away your sins, the new man alive in Christ forevermore.
Also, Did you confess Jesus your Lord to God? It can't be done for show, but with an honest heart before God. God looks at your heart.
If you are born of God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God then you are saved. No one can take eternal life from you. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit until redemption day complete.
So, also, who is he who overcomes, he who is born of God. What is our victory? Our Faith in Jesus Christ.
Also, you need to renew your mind in the Word of God. The Truth sets us free. It is also written that instead of drinking to excess & drunkedness, be filled with the Holy Spirit. You need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. You have probably criticized the Holy Spirit & that is why you have turned to the bottle. So repent for this & ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit, with the sign of praising God in the Spirit. For the Spirit teaches us in the things of God and how to pray in spirit & truth. Alchohol is an idol in your life. Drunkards inherit worldly spirits & not Gods Kingdom. You need to do all things as unto the Lord & even drink as unto the Lord. But mostly be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Additionally. When one is born of His Spirit, person is made whole: body, soul & spirit (no longer spiritually dead/blind). But our flesh is still corruptible. Our soul is blended withour new spirit man. So we need to deny our flesh lusts. Like if someone pokes your buttons, you don't react in the flesh by cursing, yelling, etc..., but your soul chooses to follow after the fruits of the Spirit; faith, hope, love, joy, peace, patience, etc. It is a choice to deny the flesh reactions & follow after the Spirit. The Holy Spirit won't force us, we need to follow. Our flesh will be corruptible until it metomorphes into an incorruptable everlasting body, soul & spirit at day of redemption complete. And we are raised like our resurrected Jesus.

Assuming you are a genuine believer and not just a churchgoer...
Your old nature is crucified..its done...but your mind contains old habits, ways of thinking, addictions. You need to
1) read the Word regularly (try to find some good teaching, "milk", to make it easier to understand until you are "eating meat")
2) (i)Present your body each day to Christ as a living sacrifice, like it says in Romans 6. This gives God the authority to help you overcome bad habits etc.
(ii) Ask daily to have the resurrection life that is yours as a branch of the True Vine (John 15). You actually have fullness and victory through union with our Lord, this is given you through the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in your life.
3)Pray every day about your issues, to receive wisdom and strength from God to deliver you.
There may be some demonic element in the alcohol addiction, but I don't know enough to advise in that respect. Seeking God is the essential first step.

This forum is the WORST possible place for advice for people with serious problems. You will hear all kinds of things contrary to Christian teaching in here, and it seems you want this so that you can continue doing what you want.
You really need to lean in on the Lord, since clearly alcohol has a grip on you. I used to drink too much, and I can tell you that I was using it as my comforter instead of Christ. If you have no comfort in the Lord, are you truly His?
The Lord will help you, but He must be your LORD, not your Santa Clause buddy.
Lastly, how fair was it for Jesus the righteous to die for the wicked?
Do you really want fair?

Christ saves. Its up to the individual what they will do once saved. I am a Christian, but I do not belong to any of the churches.
I find them judgemental and I can go directly to my Heavenly Father without the need of any Priest or Pastor.
Okay, so you believe in God, but you are going out on the weekends and getting trashed; this is the deal:
Theres nothing wrong with going out and having a few drinks at the end of the week to wind down. Getting drunk has its own problems: you black out, say things that you don't mean, fall and break stuff, maybe even you, etc..If you really want to make your life miserable, get stopped by the cops after a few at the bar, and watch your life really get complicated; fines, mandatory psychiatrist, etc. etc. maybe even jail time.
There's lots and lots of reasons not to get
drunk, right?
You need to find some balance in your life, and try to do whats right. If you screw up,
join the crowd - we all screw up, and thats
whats so cool about Christ - we have the
opportunity for forgiveness and a fresh start; and you don't need any person or any churches to talk to God, just talk to him.
Repentance means asking for forgiveness, and having a change of mind. You should be honest with God - never try to con him, and never promise something that you know your butt cannot deliver, got it?
tell him just like you told us - and try to find
a way to unwind each week without losing
yourself to a bottle. That can't possibly
ever help you to have a better life, so its
a waste of time - but it can turn your life
into real crap. Theres no up, only down.
Ya gotta get some balance going. Oh, and
spare me the people who are telling you that "you aren't allowed to do this or that";
not allowed by what? their church's rules?
What you really need to hear, and what the
truth is - is that you need to find equal ground so that you can chill out at the end of the week, but you don't chance putting your entire life in the toilet by doing it.
Balance in all things. You are gonna be judged by God, and no other person, no
church lady and no priest is gonna be standing between you and God on that day.
So you do what your heart tells you is right,
and pray to God for guidance. But if you
don't find that balance in your life, and if you don't use common sense in your decisions, God will let you go down that
path of real misery; Gods not gonna do everything - he expects you to do your
reasonable part. Thats fair.
Its always 4:20 around here - I think you
know what I mean - we don't drink because it causes too many problems. We stay home and chill out, have people over, etc...

As flesh we try to find the fastest relief for our problems (alcohol, drugs). Why are you still drinking? Well the answer is simple....you still want to drink..It has not caused you enough pain yet or severe consequences for you to say "I am not doing that anymore". I got to the point in my drinking that it almost costed me my life before I gave up. Don't let it get to that point. God wants to give you freedom and joy, but it does not happen as fast as an alcoholic beverage does at first. I will pray that God reveals some insight for you. Remember that God loves you more than anyone or anything in this world.

When you become a Christian, you are "born again" into a new life. So, if you're still out drinking and full of sin and aren't doing anything differently than before you started calling yourself a Christian, then you have not been truly saved.

If you really want to know what is happening in your life read Romans (Ro 7:14-25 to get a clear idea - but it is a difficult read). It is written "As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me" (Ro 7:17)...
Keep in mind that God didn't just want us to change our thinking, feeling or acting. He came to change our way of being. There is nothing we can do within our own power to save ourselves and be free from the slavery of sin. We can use will power to avoid doing things but it won't go away. We are weak. Sin continues to pursue us and lead us into temptation. Only by calling on Christ will He deliver us from evil. It is Him who removes us from our strongholds not ourselves. Don't get me wrong, alot of sins may be pleasurable, but that doesn't justify our partaking in such actions. Postponing the surrender only prolongs the struggle...

I think that if there is a god, whomever is 'right' about this religion thing, there are murderers, theives, child molesters, and flat-out bad people that'd be in the express lane to hell LOOONNNGG before you would be for getting drunk sometimes. As long as you don't kill anyone while drunk (drink and drive) you'd be okay.

At least you know you are in sin, where as before you did not. So if you know and you put a better effort, someday you may leave your life of sin. I sin to, and I ask myself why I do when I know it is wrong, because it is fun I guess and no one wants to bored.
