If your talking about Christianity, it's not blind. It is backed by proven evidence, that is why it is still here today.
Take time to read Gods word, and ask Him to let you understand. QUESTION EVERYTHING!!!! This is the only way that you will understand and have faith in what you believe!
Don't take the advice of people and adopt it as your way of thinking without studying. I am a worship leader at my church and have a very good friendship with my pastor, but on things he says that I'm unsure of, I don't take his word for it....I check with Gods word then make my decision from there.
Eternity is a long time if you make the wrong reservations.....

God gave us options for a reason. We have to prove worthy of His kingdom, having faith is hard especially these days but having it really does help, just to know that there is some place better than this waiting for us. Please dont stop believing! God doesn't want us to fear Him, but love Him with all of our hearts. I'm fairly young, I'm 23, but i have experienced His love in soo many ways. I have a lovely little girl, a wonderful husband! I know the news is full of heart ache and violence but every time a missing child is found alive i thank God. Everytime a soldier comes home from Iraq i thank God. He gave us will to do with as we see fit, just like he gave us the choice to either love Him and trust Him or not. Think about any relationship you've ever had.You cant make someone love you and if you could would you or would you rather have them love you by choice, it would feel more real then right? Dont worry, you've just lost your way for a moment, God will find some way to offer you a way back, just be sure your open for the invitation:)

Blind faith? As Christians we would like to believe that there is nothing blind about it! God does reveal himself to us and we strive to worship and praise him in all we do! God used to be more hands on and physically verbal at times. He put his voice in a burning bush, a cloud, and other physical things. This was required for the people af the time in order to overcome the overwhelming influence against God in that time! He spoke to strengthen their faith not to prove himself because faith was lacking. God tells us in Revelation that he will create a new Earth for the few who believed. He made this earth and allows man free-will and other methods so that they can make their own choice for eternity! He only wants the faithful and loyal in his second and perfect world! It would be impossible to give man that choice if he stood in front of us and said here I am everyone! Touch me, feel me, hear me and see me physically so you believe...there then would be no need for faith! I also believe that the Bible is so packed full of Gods wisdom that a lifetime isn't long enough to understand all that is written. I'd like to think it is but if that were the case, we would have all the answers to every question! So... I believe he does, but only at first. Blind faith is faith without evidence. We are blind until we choose to humble ourselves die to ourselves and give all to God for his work and glory! Once our eyes are opened we are no longer blind at all and the evidence is clear. If we were all seeing the evidence with no understanding or knowledge the entire purpose of this world would be lost and therefor his new world described in Revelation could not happen to his will! Since God can't lie because it goes against the spirit and his very nature then without doubt being present, faith would not be required! Even blind faith

Faith is neither blind nor w/ a lack of intellectual reason. Only incorrect reasoning and logic lead one to believe that God doesn't exist. It takes more faith (blind I might add) to believe God doesn't exist than He does. The problem isn't that there isn't any proof of God's existence, it's that you fail to see or acknowledge the proof that is there. You think if you see God then you can believe in Him. The problem is that is an illogical assumption. Until you actually believe in God you will not see the things of God. You don't see the wind yet you know its there. You don't see television signals coming to your TV but you believe they are there. The same way you don't see love yet you know someone loves you. If you didn't believe the wind existed then you couldn't explain the cool sensation of air rushing against your skin or the noise air makes as it rushes through objects. You would attribute these things to something other than where they came from. In the same way by not believing in God you attribute the things of God to something other than what it is. Seeing is not believing, but believing is seeing.
Something else you said struck me. You said you can be a good person, correct? Based on what? What makes you a good person? Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, no matter how small or what the value was? Jesus said, "you have heard it said before thou shalt not commit adultery, but I say to you if any of you have looked at another with lust then you have committed adultery already in your heart." Have you ever done that? He also said, "you have heard it said before thou shalt not commit murder, but I say to any of you, if you have had unjust anger towards another then you have committed murder already in your heart." Ever hated anyone or had unjust anger towards them? And, that is just 4 of the 10 commandments, imagine how many times you have broken each of these over your lifetime. So if you have said yes to any of these then at the time of your death when you face God in judgment will you be found guilty or innocent? Will you go to heaven or hell? Maybe you think God is a good God and He will not punish you. That which you think will save you will be the very thing that condemns you. Image someone commits murder and kills someone near and dear to you. They go before the judge and the judge says you have been found guilty for the crimes you committed, do you have anything to say for yourself. The person says, "but your honor, I have participated in many events to better service my community. I have given to the poor, never broke the law before now, etc....." If based on this the judge let's the person go, would they be a good judge? Of course not, if the judge does not punish the person for the crimes they committed regardless of the good they have done you would want that judge removed from the bench, would you not? In the same way because God is good and just He must punish those who break His law. So to ask the question again, if you were to die today and go before God would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to heaven or hell? God even tells us that He wrote the laws on our heart so our conscious would prick us when we choose what's wrong over what's right? You know when you do wrong don't you? So if you were asked again, are you a good person, how would you honestly answer? Still think your good?
As far as your original question, no I don't believe God gave us cynical minds, but I do agree that He did give us minds to think and reason as well as to question. Many have questioned God and He answers those questions. You just have to be willing to hear the answer even if its not the one you want to hear. There's a difference between questioning for the sake of gaining knowledge and truth and asking a rhetorical question.

God gave you the power to make your own choices, and secure your Salvation or seal your own Doom.
it's hard to have Faith...until you BECOME Faith...like a dancer and the dance becoming inseparable...when you allow Faith to rain down on you, you will be strong enough and clear enough to see that the dichotomy you witness now is just mind-noise...there really IS no dichotomy...it all fits, it's all perfect...if you can find the Way.
your walk with God should become the only way that you can naturally exist, that to be any other way is like trying to walk backwards all day...it's just not who and what you are anymore.
you're in my prayers, that you can find Peace...and then when you find it, come back and lead me over there, too...ok?

Not everyone has a cynical mind.
Disappointments are a fact of life.
Yet the cynicism here on Earth can always give hope for something better in the future, with God.
We all see the failures of mankind around us as well as our own failures and short-comings.
Who WOULDN'T want to believe that there is something better for us.
Don't let your cynicism here on Earth block you from the possibilities that await us with God in His Kingdom.
What you are fighting is not unbelief. You want to believe but your lack of understanding God holds you back.
God does not ask us to understand. He just asks that we believe in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Blind faith isn't in the bible.
People are spiritually blinded when they rebel purposely against Gods Love & Word. Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God, you must be born again. Born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God.
God calls us out of the darkness & into His Light. I was blind but now I see. This is what is written in the bible.
I am not cynical.

I think that's the thing. He wans the intersection of the two. If you can still believe in God despite your rationale mind questioning, then he knows you have faith. He doesn't want you to blindly follow him, he wants you to question that its there yet through your own self discovery still believe in him. Religion isn't always rational, yet God leaves his own clues for you.

*If* God exists (and I do not believe that he does), then he certainly wants you to use the things he gave you.
Including: reason, critical thinking, your own, personal experience, etc.
I can't imagine a God that would actually reward blind, unthinking faith. Blind, unthinking faith sounds like the kind of thing a tyrant or despot (or demon, like Satan) would expect of its subjects.
Trust your heart *and* mind to lead you to the right answers.

Salvation is a free gift through confession it has nothing to do with your belief at this time.Say this"Father thank you for Jesus and I recognize that you LOrd raised Jesus from the dead, Jesus change my heart and my mind into yours in Jesus' name amen."Its that simple see you in heaven bro'. P.S. If anybody trys to tell you different tell them to read Romans 10:9-10 aloud until they understand the truth behind this scripture.
