Theists, by and large, reject the very thing that Atheists use to establish their arguments--logical analysis.

Atheists, by and large, reject the very thing that Theists use to establish their arguments--belief by faith.

The greatest obstacle is that Atheists and Theists cannot agree on the groundrules of their debate. Atheists try to prove things in ways that Theists regard as suspect, and Theists try to share personal examples that Atheists don't regard as pertinent.

It's a mess, really.

Theists believe there is a God or gods..
Atheists believe they themselves are gods.
The greatest obstacles is they all believe they are right and
they want everybody to follow their beliefs
Sorry, hor, this is my own definition..

I think there are only obstacles between a few.
If you believe that your religion is the one true religion, and that everyone outside of your religion is wrong, hell-bound, and living in error, then that will tend to present a large obstacle to commonality.

That theists use the Bible to prove God's existence, and atheists refuse to accept it as a Holy Book, since they don't believe in God.

Just a big round about, really.

And atheists are funnier :0) And I even say this as a Christian! Will the entertainment please come back?

R&S is kinda dull now without them :0(

Theists becoming rational is the greated obstacle/hurdle.

It's QUITE hard to master due to their indoctrinated, ignorant minds.

If you mean that both groups are religious I agree.
The difference is that theists worship a god or gods, while atheists seem to pretty much worship themselves.
But they are very religious about it!!

A couple of lines from one of my all-time favorite songs pretty well explains it:

"There's battle lines being drawn/Nobody's right if everybody's wrong."

-- and --

"A thousand people in the street/Singing songs and carrying signs/Mostly say, hooray for our side."

From "For What It's Worth," of course.
