... Then why are anorexic people or people who don't eat much skinny? Shouldn't their bodies go into starvation mode and don't lose any weight? Or does your body eventually quit starvation mode after an extended period and you start losing weight?

I'm not planning on going anorexic, I'm just wondering.

An anorexic person's metabolism basically shuts down because the body is trying to conserve energy. However, it still takes calories to live so the body starts eating away at itself after a while. That's where the weigh loss comes from.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

You are severely misinformed. Please don't starve yourself. I think what you mean by "starvation mode" is when the body starts to eat itself because it's not getting fed. What you actually mean is SURVIVAL mode. Thats a last attempt by your body to nurish itself right before you die. So with anorexic people the body thinks it is about to die so it starts eating itself (survival mode). But the person doesn't let this happen by eating just enough to stay alive. So yeah, don't starve yourself.

AND THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANOREXIC PEOPLE AND "PEOPLE WHO DON'T EAT MUCH". There's also people who are naturally skinny. Im a bone rack. Im 6'1 and only 175 pounds. No matter how much I eat I don't put on weight. It's not as great as it sounds, in fact it really sucks.

If you don't eat for a long time and exercise alot..then you'll lsoe weight..but you'll be extremely unhealthy. Their bodies are in "Starvation mode"...but since they don't go back to eating regular..their bodies don't recover from it..which makes them anorexic.

i think everything the doctors tell you is a bunch of garbage, becuase i did use a starvation diet. i am not bulimic or anorexic, and i had lost 130lbs on the starvation diet and was quite healthy. this might not work for all people but it worked for me, and i am quite healthy and i dont have any eating disorders. ghandi went on a starvation diet and lost weight, its just not a pleasant diet to be on.

Ok starvation mode only store the fat you eat. So if your not eating anything your body feeds on itself(your body's stored fat). Starving yourself causes not only your metoabolism to shut down but all the body functions shut down. Anorexia is so very very dangerous!

There's a line between eating enough for your body to grab as much fat as it can and not enough food for the body to get anything. Eat several small meals a day of healthy NATURAL foods.

Their body needs food and it starts ripping apart the muscle and everything else to survive.
Many will wind up with heart problems, among many other things.

you lose water weight and muscle and slow down your metabolism dramatically. as soon as you start eating normal again (eventually you will) you gain even more than lost back.
