Ok my roomate got her car towed yesterday for parking too close to a fire hydrant. I called her to see how it was going and yesterday the Police Dept. said all she had to do was pay the fine at the station, they'd give her a slip to take to the towing yard and she'd have to pay towing fees and daily storage fees to get her car out.

Well now she called and told me she has to wait till 2:30 for a call from Sacramento DMV?? I tried to get the whole story to see if I could help her out but shes so annoyed and upset I couldn't get it out of her. Anyone have any clue as to what the heck she is talking about??

The car registration has to be current, and in her name when she picks it up. She also has to have some kind of ID. If those things are not met, the tow company wont release it.

She, apparently is missing one of the above things.

So in others words she's concerned that there may be more than just paying the fine on the parking summons?!

My suggestion is she clearly think to recall any event she may have in her past that may have resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant.

If, for instance, there is the occassion of another ticket where she owes but hasn't paid. Have her call the local clerks office or district attorneys office to determine what the pay-out would be to clear up any outstanding issues.

Best wishes.

WELL FIRST OF ALL YOUR ROOMATE PARKED TOO CLOSE TO A HYDRANT. BY PARKING TOO CLOSE SHE COULD BE BLOCKING THE EMERGENCY VEHICALS. SECOND OF ALL DMV DOENS'T EVEN DEAL WITH THESE KIND OF THINGS. YOUR ROOMATE HAS TO GO TO THE COMPANY THAT TOWED HER CAR AWAY AND PAIN THE FINE TO GET HER CAR OUT. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PD AND THE TOW COMPANY THEN TAKE IT TO COURT.

If they are involving DMV in Sacramento they probably have an outstanding parking bill or expired registration on the car and will hold it until its cleared.

the final rule is 15 ft in maximum states, if no longer all. 15 ft facilitates the engine to tug into the hydarnt. 3 ft is nowhere close to proper. you're responsible for understanding each and each of the site visitors guidelines on your state as a registered driver. it truly is a condition of your lic. lack of expertise of the regulation isn't a valid defence.
