Have you ever wore a wedding ring to pretend you were married but wasn't.
I am tired of men hitting on me so I was thinking about putting a ring on my ring finger as if I am married so that men would leave me alone. No I am not gay. I'm just at a point in my life where I don't want to be bothered and don't want to date.

ah, you're tired of the 50 "nice guys" a day coming up to you with "hi, my name's ____, what's yours?". common problem, and it's why attractive girls are usually incorrectly perceived by the uninformed as b*tchy. a wedding ring won't work tho, as guys simply don't notice jewelry. they'd still approach you, and you'd still have to say "i'm married". my advise is to get some of your guy "friends" -- you know, the ones who want you but don't admit it, and who will do anything you say -- to go with you when you go to clubs and such. either that or just tell them all "i'm married" when they approach you. occasionally you'll get a guy like me who will see through it and know how to work with girls like yourself (with neg theory, etc), but most will just leave.

I can't say that I have ever done that...I wanted to as it bothered me to be flirted with and such, but never did. It is a compliment after all that men see you as an attractive woman. Ever heard the saying:"Where are all the married men?"" They are at the bar". Well it's true for a lot of them and a ring on your finger, won't stop them from flirting or hitting on you...only you can stop that! Just be yourself and politely decline...after all if no one tried to hit on you, you might feel worse in the end. You are a beautiful woman and they see you as that! If all else fails, you see a man walking towards you, then walk away...wear a tshirt that says NO or Back off! Men will be men and women will be women! We can't change that. Good luck and hope this helped.

That will stop most men, but some will hit on you even if you are wearing a wedding ring. I think if your not into dating right now go ahead and wear the ring it will scare the majority of men away.

I did that just the other day..I put my old wedding ring on because I had four litte kids with me and I was taking them out to eat.. I didn't want people to think i was a single mom of these kids..thinking I slept around.. I see no problem in wearing a wedding ring.. I also have done it when I went out, so that men wouldn't hit on me..Wear it if you want to, No big deal~ :)

I did do that a few times before I got married.. It works for the most part.. but then there will always be that one guy who doesn't care if you are wearing a wedding ring!

never a wedding ring but my mum got me to wear a fake engagement ring last summer when we were on holiday cos she was tired of men (most of them a lot older) hitting on me...it didn't really work but that could have been cos i was 15 :) most men might leave you alone but the ones who would hit on you would be the jerks who are prepared to break up a marriage

Ha...I am married and wear my wedding ring...and STILL get hit on. A wedding ring may deter some men, but not all of them.

Yes I did that when i was single. But what makes you think people will stop hitting on you just because you are wearing a ring? They wont.

No, that would be a lie. Just continue to tell them the truth. I wonder if you would be writing if the men weren't hitting on. You must be an attractive woman and I think you would be happy that you are noticed. Just continue to tell them the truth, that you are not interested, thank you and go on about your way.
