I converted to Catholicism 15 years ago .
My parents, Protestants, on occasion have come up with certain ideas against the Catholic Church, which I feel is because they are.......well, a bit ignorant of the Catholic faith.
My dad once asked, "Why did Catholics add books to the Bible?".
We then had a discussion of how Protestant's removed the Deutero-Canonical books.
But the I wondered where he got this contorted view.....
People should seek knowledge ....... learn to be humble and respect each other faiths....

There have to be parallels there.
It always kills me, hearing so-called Christians talking about how the Papacy and Catholics are from the Devil. The only reason they even exist is due to the Catholic faith.
I don't believe in God, but have the sense to realize that Protestantism wouldn't exist without Catholicism and that Protestants base their entire belief structure on text compiled by Catholics in the first place.

After the last half an hour or so in this forum, I'm inclined to say that you're right. Some folks' family trees don't fork nearly as often as they should.
And you gotta wonder about who owns stock in the white sheet business around here, too.

No, there is no genetic link to anti-Catholicism or any other type of religious intolerance. I have seen bigots come from all religions. I have even seen anti-Protestant Catholic bigots.

the link to antiCatholicism is to put GOD first in ALL things... before a Priest, before a Bishop, before a Deacon, before the Pope..... the only link between man and God is JESUS. Follow the Word, no need for men in between.
