NYC is a hotel city.
Manhattan is not a motel city.
the few we have are on the west side.

You'll find mostly hotels in Manhattan. Motels would be located in the other boroughs. Try Staten Island, less crime.

There are a few in Brooklyn, Try Sheepshead bay there is one by the water.
