Picked up a good tip on this subject here last week - I'm trying it and it is working.
Several people suggested using Vicks Vaporub and applying it on the toe nail, and under the toe nail. Thought it couldn't work and was probably someone taking the mickey, but only one week later my toe is much improved. Of course, depending how bad the infection, it can take ages to clear up as the nail has to grow out again.
I also hear Tea Tree Oil is good - my nail technicial friend recommended that, but I haven't tried it yet.

Yes cider vinegar about a pound a bottle. soak it in the stuff. is best to let it soak. You can soak inside of a plaster or Cotton wool and leave on for a while. the trouble is that just wetting it with vinegar- well the cider does not stay active for long it gets wiped off - unless you soak it all the time. The kits are expensive. Also before adding vinegar - file down the infected part of the nail - this makes it look nicer and you get more vinegar onto infected part. good luck.

I am assuming you mean Loceryl lacquer.
Get your GP or practice nurse to take nail clippings to confirm the diagnosis. Assuming the result is +ve he will prescribe. A 3 month pack will then only cost you £6.50.
