I'd suggest that you take a look at www.bacp.co.uk - click on "Find a Therapist" and try for something in your area. Each entry states what the counsellor's/therapist's orientation is - look for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy there. You'll then be able to see what they are charging. You could check out different areas to see about general availability.

You may find something on the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) site or on the UKCP site (www.psychotherapy.org.uk) about research into the effectiveness of CBT for various disorders. I don't have time at this moment to follow up and search myself, but my hunch would be that CBT is OK short-term but pretty useless long-term in anorexia, because eating disorders are deep-seated psychological issues. It may be possible to change thinking and behaviour for a bit, but the underlying stuff is going to get people in the end, just as in addictions, unless they are dealt with more deeply.

In the UK, I would believe these therapies would be handled under NHS. In the US, it depends on the treatment center. All prices are different. Are you are talking about in-patient treatment? Or out-patient treatment? That will make a huge difference in price. Also whether the person has insurance. And, if the patient is low income and no insurance, then the department of social services would get the person treatment.
Do a search on centers that do this treatment and email them. You may not get a straight answer (they'll say it depends on the patient, etc.) but it is your best bet.

This isn't the kind of research you can get by copying and pasting a couple of internet references into an essay. You need to do the research thoroughly on this topic. To find out if C.B.T. is the best way of treating anorexia is going to be difficult and will involve you talking to professionals in the field. You can contact your local GP Surgery and find out if they offer counselling - C.B.T. is often used by the NHS. Anorexia is a complex and dangerous medical and psychological conditon. DSM IV has a comprehensive list of symptoms.

I personally do not believe C.B.T. is the most effective psychotherapeutic treatment for anorexia. I believe that long term psychotherapy as well as direct medical intervention is best. However you need to talk to professionals and research this topic thoroughly to do it and yourself justice.

Call or e maila couple of treatment centers that specialize in treating anorexia with CBT. (Like THE MEADOWS in Arizona) They can tell you what the costs are and whether insurance covers it, and maybe send you to some professional magazines about how well it works

ingredient outcomes are easy on the commencing up of therapy yet frequently deplete with time. attempt to stick on your scientific expert's techniques. that is going to take countless weeks to evaluate if the medicine is working for you. the mixture of medicine and cognitive therapy is oftentimes greater efficient than the two therapy on my own
