Never visited the US, but always wanted to. The food always seems way better out there, for example sweets and chocolate bars look nicer. Do Americans think this about our UK food and does anyone share the same view?

except for being woke up to a stewed kidney and tomato breakfast on a BOAC jet 30 years ago, most of the English food I've had wasn't bad. American food, where I grew up. is from so many different places and then toned down to have no real distinctive taste is rather boring. The food in US restaurants (except for the very cheap places) is presented in a pretty way, but for real eating there is nothing like Mexican or Italian food.

I think it's just the way food is presented. Don't forget that it was Julia Child (one of your own!) that impacted American Cooking from the 60's on.

I think you will find food from every country that you will like and dislike. There are definite differences, though in some things that you would think are the same.

I've found that in the UK, a softer wheat is grown than that of the US. Carr's Whole Wheat Crackers I'm absolutely addicted to. They're absolutely lovely. I have yet to find any kind of wheat cracker manufactured in the US that compares.

Also, in the UK, the common cattle there produces a higher butterfat in it's milk. That's why your butter, milk, and items that include dairy products are creamier and tastes different.

We use Kerrygold butter in our home for spreading on toast and bread. I use the regular American stuff for everything else. Also, there's a major difference in chocolate. All our British friends miss Cadbury's as they believe the chocolate out here tastes "funny" to them. You can probably find Cadbury bars made in the US. Try them and compare them to Cadbury bars made in the UK. You will definitely notice the difference.

I LOVE the way food looks....all sorts of food. I am of the belief that presentation is half the meal.

I have seen pictures of all sorts of other ethnic foods, and I've eaten at British Pubs here in the US and the food is always lovely.

I think that British food, depending on how it's presented, can be as lovely or as mundane as American food. And I've had some pretty plain-looking American grub!!

I wouldn't feed anything with fish which is most likely farmed fish so full of chemicals, disease and dyes. Prebiotics are not digestable for dogs so that's a waste of money. Beet pulp is a cheap filler high in sugar. Whole grains have afflatoxins and are also not easy for dogs to digest, many have intolerances to whole grains. Not enough meat. Linseed=waste. Better than most if not all grocery store brands though.

In general the food in the UK is more blande and has less color. On the other hand, the UK has access to much better chocolate ;-).

Well, I like english food. god, the heavy cream is to die for. I like it I suppose cause I'm from old english stock here in Virginia. I grew up with a mom who's spice cabinet contained salt and pepper. That's it!
Anyway, I like english food, but I also like to eat other ethnic foods, particularly curries from India.
Americans use way to much sugar in our diets and thats apparent when you eat pastries in England. They're hardly sweet. Boy, was I surprised when I bit into a scone. That's very similar to our biscuit the way my Mother made them; in a black iron frying pan.
Thanks

English food has a laughable reputation in the States, I'm afraid. We do put a lot of effort into our sweets.

Allthough I LOVE an English breakfast now and then.

Possibly you are wearing sun glasses. In any case food is taste not looks. All that glitters is not gold.

We do have an abundant variety of great food here, it is no wonder that 65 % of the population is overweight here.
