Islam limits marrying 4 people at a time. It is possible tht all nine of em werent alive at a time. Why is Islam the most targetted religion? I am not defending...only tryin tlook at things from your point of view. I wanna kno whats on the other side. And how do you kno the answers are wrong when u are actually lookin for the answers?

I have a second major in religion sweety. I learned a great deal about Islam long before I came here. I know a lot of people on here are really hard on the Islamic beliefs and people and I think its a travesty and a sign of lack of education about other faiths.

Today among the 6 + billion population living in this whole globe, what else can unite the people. Very few (10%) may really say No God. Others may say Luck, Nature etc instead of the word God. So the only common phenomena which can unite today's humanity is God. Religion is not there to fight among ourselves but it is to unite. Although it may sound strange at this juncture it is difficult to find an alternative to discuss and make it a common for all. Right from America to Ethiopia this is the only thing which can be the same for all. Muslims firmly believe than others in their religion. Still muslims are the worst followers of their own religion but whatever they believe (even 5% of Islam) they believe it with 100% faith. Such discussions are very essential for us to exist. Each one of us have the choice to select what we want at all times of our life. But we need to know what is selected by most of the people around us.

Practicing this religion or that, is not like shopping for goods in a mall. I am no body to propagate my religion, unless I have the authority vested in me by God, which means, unless I am a saint.
Doing charities and good social work are not necessarily depictive of our spiritual status. A rich man can do the charities etc. but a poor man can not. That does not mean that the poor is cursed. We generally think our selves to be blessed only when we have sufficient funds in our banks, so that we can act doing charities.
But if that is the criteria, our God is biased against many. That can not be true. Even the thought that the God is biased is a recipe for the atheists for their arguements.
I don't want to take your more time, and will quickly say that we all are aspiring for unlimited and eternal happiness and should only follow the path which can take us to that.

I am a religious studies student. I have a good understanding of ALL religions from mainstream, to cults, to tribal beliefs in all countries. There are parts of Islam that I LOVE! There are parts of Shintoism that I admire, and there are parts of Native American that I like.
The point is, I have understanding and respect for all religions and every individuals religious beliefs. You are right, people shouldn't be so narrow minded and should learn about a religion before they go and criticize it.

I don't believe Islam answers the questions, That is unless corruption can enter the Highest heaven. I see nothing in Islam that cleanses the heart of man. The Old Testament from Genesis though Malachi Blood is required to make an offering for sin. I see Allah requiring nothing like that.. You religion doesn't seem to be consistent with the requirements of God... Jim

Actually, after studying Islam for well over 10 years from all the angles I humanly could, it does NOT answer "every single question" of mine, which is why I never took Shahada. I respect Islam for those who use it as a means of wisdom, altruism and compassion, but I remain essentially atheist and am Buddhist.

Usually it will just reconfirm my faith.... And swearing on God... That doesn't really scare me. After all its a sin to use the lord's name in vain, and I think swearing on or to God is improper. Why can't you just say I swear on my own life. Because swearing to God doesn't stop anyone from telling a lie and you believe it just because they swear on something that we do not see and a good part of the world doens't even believe in?

I'm constantly answer questions about Islam to anyone who asks of it. If the question is serious and respectful, my answer is serious and respectful. If the question is just an attack on Islam and is disrespectful to me and other Muslims, my answer is serious and respectful.
