Take acetaminophen (Tylenol) with or without an anti-inflammatory medicine such as ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve). It may take several days to settle the pain down. Stronger narcotic-containing medicines are usually not necessary, but your doctor may provide these if it that bothersome.

repetitive work can definitely cause extreme pain in the shoulders and neck. I've enclosed a link to a website that gives a very detailed diagram of what the position should be for your body and all of your computer components at the desk to relieve pain.

I've also enclosed a web site for desk exercises.

If you continue to have pain you should see it a chiropractor. I've enclosed a link where you can find a qualified chiropractor in your area.

1) Give up tension and relax. Tense muscle will exert pressure on the joints. Meditation, deep breathing exercises and listening to light classical music are the best stress-busters.

2) Maintain a healthy balance between rest and activity. Exercise moderately 20 to 30 minutes daily and sleep for entire eight hours at night. This will benefit your musculoskeletal system.

3) Do not perform any exercise that leaves your joint painful an hour after you stop exercising.

4) Use good posture. Lift heavy load with hip muscles rather than back.

Advil works for my aches and pains. Though what works the best is a heating pad.

make sure you have good posture, try a foot rest.
also make sure your monitor is eye level, and your keyboard is a good height.
These will all help, not sure if you need additional lumbar support.
