I asked my friend to teach me how to drive a stick and he agreed but he warned me that a Cobra is not a good car to learn how to drive a stick because it's harder to drive than most manual cars. Is that true or is he just full of sh*t?

I know that he loves his baby and he went on about how this is a limited edition....etc...

So your friend owns a Cobra & agreed to teach you how to drive a stick.....just not with his 'baby'.......imagine that! LOL

He is NOT full of sh*t....just doesn't want to let you burn up his clutch ! Can't say I blame him !

Try to find another friend who owns a p.o.s. little 4cyl that they don't mind replacing a few gears in, leave the Cobra intact !

actually he is kind of right. they have a very heavy clutch, which is not typical of most cars and generally these cars will need a tad more rpm to get the car moving successfully. other than those 2 issues its an OK car to learn on. a corolla or something like that would be better though. find a big empty parking lot until you feel comfortable with a stick.

i learned stick on a 2004 mustang cobra with a kenne bell supercharger that put 748hp to the wheels. it was a very bad car to learn stick on. that clutch pedal will be completely different than a lot of other cars. plus your friend probably does not want you burning up the clutch.

the clutch pedal may be very hard press down on . Try learning on a 4 cyl. honda. It's much easier and lighter to learn on.
