He needs to sacrifice someone in order for that to happen? You see why atheists just can't believe this yet?

I believe! I believe that the stories of the bible is a series of wonderful myths that have no more basis in reality than the Epic of Gilgamesh, Beowulf, King Arthur or Ramayana and the Mahabharata.

But, I too am perplexed as to why so many people believe this story so literally.

God has the power to do anything, which is why he crafted existance in a mere six days. However, because God is just to punish what is morally wrong, he cannot forgive our sins without a punishment.

God resolved this problem by creating a human that was not fallen, out of Adam's line, who lived a perfect life and was sacrificed for us all so that we may accept Christ's punishment as our own and have forgiveness.

The more you get into and study that, the more beautiful it all becomes.

Why would a 'God' who was invented by 'men' ( generic not sexist ) 'forgive' some vague transgression that was also invented by 'men' ?

The alleged 'sacrificing', and the alleged reason for it was also invented by 'men', and atheists are also just 'men'.

It's all about interpretation, everything is about interpretation, and we are so good at interpreting and then telling everyone else that 'God' told us, and us alone, the correct interpretation.

Humbug !

Oh, and the 'six days', that's another interpretation, should probably read six ages, or something, the 'time' is really not the point, because 'time' as well is just a matter of interpretation.

Maybe we should remind ourselves of the distinction between 'Literal' and 'Figurative'.

Other than His only son, Jesus Christ, the most important gift that God gave human beings, that which separates us from the animals, is free will.
Therefore if you sin, it is of your own choosing. The devil didn't make you do it!! Neither did drugs/alcohol, the heat of the moment, peer pressure, or a childhood of mommy and daddy missing your soccer games b/c they had to work to put a roof over your head and food on the table. You committed the crime/sin, own up to it and ask for forgiveness. It is not automatic.
You chose to commit the sin, now you have to choose to be forgiven. If you are truly sorry for what we've done, you ask for forgiveness, & it will be granted.
God is merciful and loving. He wants to welcome you home. But first you have to decide that it's time to come back.

God is Just.
If you commit the crime, the fine must be paid.
Jesus paid the fine.

For the Lord to forgive everyone, just like that, wouldn't serve Justice.

Look at is as someone paying a speeding fine you richly deserve. Justice wouldn't be served by waiving the fine, but you can be very grateful to somone paying it for you.

God didn't make us to be Robots !! In fact he made us in
His image . We have Freewill to chose . Do you chose your
friends or to you slip them some altering drug or something ?
Then what !! , God Loves us and wants a relationship with us.
One with true love and true friendship , something you sadly
no nothing about Yet ! But as long as God gives you air to
breath by His common Grace . You might want to get to know
Him , then you'll tell Him how sorry you are for the way that
you have acted all your Life. ..Don't worry thou , He Loves
you the same . You see its not about Him wanting us , its
about you wanting Him and all the gifts He has for You

I think it had less to do with actually NEEDING a sacrifice and more to do with getting humans "involved" in their salvation. Man has a distinct need to perform with his hands, to create, to destroy, to do in general. I think it was rather brilliant of the part of the gods to give man something to do in order to play an active role in their own salvation. It makes it more personal that way. Which is why I don't understand the abolishment of personal sacrifice now.

How do you know it was six days? I could be 6 periods really to take the word of the bible literally could be misleading, but wasn't his son sent to prove that what God expects from us is possible, his son did it in human form with the same temptations that we face.

There is more to it then what God did by sending His Son to pay the penalty for sin,

it takes us repenting (turning 180 degrees around to follow Him and not ourselves) for us to receive that forgiveness.

It is your choice to believe or not, there will be a day that all will wish they took it seriously.

I take it seriously for many reasons, one BIG one being that all of the prophecy that has been fulfilled to date has been 100% accurate. What is there about that, that we shouldn't take seriously?

God loves killing things. He just isn't happy unless someone is being tortured unmercifully or there's a bunch of dead babies or slaughtered animals.

Jesus is the same way. But at least god does his own dirty work. Jesus just tells his henchmen to bring the non-believers before him for the slaughter.

God's alias' are Jigg Saw/Freddy/Jason Vorhies/Micheal Myers/Jesus... proof? Well, you can kill them all you want, but they keep returning from the dead just to kill more people.
