Butter, pepper, and hot sauce! My aunt was from Baton Rouge and taught me that was traditional and I fell in love with grits.
Or you can add some cheese and ham to that too.

Ok I like grape jelly in plain grits with a side of sausage. Also love cheese grits. Cook some bacon and sausage cut it up and add it in mmmm good stuff

Butter, bacon, cheese, country ham, shrimp, brown sugar/cinnamon.
Bacon, cheese and green onion grits are my fave. Grits are pretty versatile, so try whatever sounds good to you.

Depends how to want it. For a sweet version, you can use brown sugar and butter. Or even a little peanut butter. Or you can shred some cheddar cheese and chop up some sausage and scrambled egg.

Oh the ways to eat them,I have a variety of flavors I put in.I like to add cream cheese to the water as it comes to a boil.I also like crumbled bacon,creole seasoning,Velvetta cheese,diced green onions and tomatoes.I try to spice them up.Good question....
