What part of the bible made you realize what a bunch of crap all of this stuff is?

The Pentateuch was quite disturbing.

God tells people not to kill, then on the next page, tells them their brothers are sinners and to go through the camp with swords, sparing none, not even women and children.

Yes, some jerks justify it with this and that theological explanation. But in the "heart of hearts," it just rings of supernatural hypocrisy and callousness.

After reading the whole thing and then going back and re-reading it you realize that Paul was nuts, lying or both, Jesus was misunderstood, Revelation was written by a lunatic, and the Gospels were copied off each other. Reading the OT you realize that Moses made it up, forced it on the Isrealites and after they internalized it they just kept putting the word in their epic tales.

The fact that all of the big stories had been told before. There are versions of every story that pre-date the bible from other religions.

i wouldn't go so far as to call it crap. made up maybe, but not crap. i'm not sure the exact verses, but they start with "in the beginnig god created..." and they end with "the grace of the lord jesus christ be with you all. amen" just those two verses and everything between them. everything else pretty legit.

The beginning mostly, but there was quite a bit in the middle, and then the end wasn't that good either............ Ok, it was all of it. I used to get told off in RE when I used to laugh at the stupidity of it all.

Atheism. You know it makes sense.

I believe in what I want to believe in. I'm not an atheist, but I don't label myself a Christian either.

God ordering Ezekiel to cook barley cakes over human excrement. I mean how can you take this God character seriously when he's coming out with absurdities like that?
