How do you determine if they are soluble or insoluble

Well, toluene is not soluble in water. It floats but will dissolve a bit when exposed to water.

I would think "f" is soluble because they are both alcohols.

How do I determine? Chemistry -- but I was crummy in it so I can not tell you how I know other than I deal with toluene and water.
