Converts to Christianity are many times taught that The Bible is optimal, and has no contradictions. . . we are decrease than no criminal accountability to have self belief that. Jesus inspired his Disciples to question Him- even to tell him to his face that he replaced into mendacity (Matt. sixteen:22; 19:24-25; 26:33-35). . . The church homes that decision for that their individuals park their brains indoors the vehicle parking lot earlier they bypass in (No- those are extremely stunning church homes! in case you may no longer come across your recommendations decrease back, they furnish one for you, loose!) income this which you will probable have the skill to choose to allow you recognize that merely FOOLS bypass to THIS Church, and on an identical time as you on the instantaneous are no longer a fool, you recognize to get superb out. . . God left the infants of Israel surrounded via enemies, so as that they might know the thank you to wrestle (Judges 3:one million-4). . . The Bible is an impediment direction to get rid of minds that would desire to easily bypass slowly like snakes and worms, and can't hop, bounce, and fly (Lev. 11:one million-forty seven). . . i'm getting the region there are fake academic institutions that tolerate rambling speculations like yours, yet a guy or lady who would desire to be stored has to prepare ALL of their recommendations, no longer merely the factors each and all the mess ups use (Deut. 6:4-9)! . . How can any smart guy or lady say that The Bible is an INTERPRETATION of God via barbarous human beings? Are you asserting that The Bible God is barbarous? Are you asserting you recognize greater effective perfect the form to have stored Israel comprehensive and alive, than what God instituted? . . Do you think of of they have been fooling around? Or that their enemies have been fooling around? . . That the Capital Sinners would desire to've have been given loose passes, so as that no-one choose subject breaking The regulation? If God weren't "barbarous," how would desire to He have dealt with regulation Enforcement? Or would choose to it extremely is which you on the instantaneous are no longer smart sufficient to appreciate that each and each and each and each Commandment of God pertains to the concepts of cellular function?

The Bible MUST be truth for me to believe it, although I understand that some of it is figurative (depending on the style of writing used).

If the entire Bible isn't true...then how can we follow it? If one thing is wrong...can't all sorts of things be wrong? How could we live as Christians if the Bible is full of errors and lies?

I would not go that far, though many other would....personally I beleive that the bible has some truthful roots, but it is mainly a book written to teach, and somethings are exagerated to make those points.....You just have to keep an open mind and heart when reading to understand its message....and just because you don't beleive it word for word does not mean you don't understand the message.

I'll go for the Cat in the Hat.

I've asked Thing 1 and Thing 2 to guide me.

Not exactly.

There is a fundamental difference between truth and fact.

It is true that God exists but I cannot prove it.

It is a fact that President Bush said he invaded Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction but it is not true.

Catholics believe that the Bible teaches truth about God but it is not historically factual at all times.

The Bible's primary purpose is to teach us about God and His (or Her) love for us, not to teach history or science.

With love in Christ.

It's true whether you read it or not.

I'd love to hear your argument on why it isn't true. It's a book that has predicted many things that have happened and stood the test of time--but go ahead, let's hear your reasons why it's wrong ;-)

Ask Holy Spirit to guide you.

You do not have to believe everything. Just believe at least John 3:16 : )

No, you have to study the bible under the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order to understand it.

No. You need to have the spirit of God within you to be able to discern the things of God. That comes through humbling yourself, repenting of your sins, and confessing Jesus Christ as your savior.

Otherwise, you'll end up mocking and scoffing....sort of like what you're doing now.

True as in factual, or true as in having a meaning?

I don't think everything in there is factual, but I believe everything has a meaning, whether I can understand it or not.
