Actually, a standard set contains 11 tokens. In World War 2, they stopped using the traditional metal (to save scarce metal) and switched to wooden tokens that look like chess pawns.
''Over 20 tokens have been cast since the MONOPOLY® game was introduced in 1935 such as the horse, dog, car, elephant, purse and lantern."
A classic monopoly game has 11 tokens. Here's a photo of an 11-token set, but it's hard to make out which ones they are:

Here is a FAQ answered, "What tokens were originally included in the game? What tokens are included today?"

NYTimes, commenting on the new Here and Now version: "The 11 tokens in the classic version — including the battleship, cannon, iron, shoe, thimble and top hat..."
There's a close-up photo of the cannon, wheelbarrow, mounted horse, race car and thimble at:

I have seen more than 6. There is
the hat,
the cannon,
the dog,
the boot,
the ship,
the car,
the wheelbarrow,
the iron,
the horse,
the thimble(forgot that one, the previous person reminded me).
I do believe that the very original pieces looked like the pieces that you use for Sorry. The sort of Hershey Kiss with a little head on it. I have a very old Monopoly set and it has those made out of wood for pieces.

depends on the version.
Mine has a dog, car, thimble, Iron, a Horse, a Cannon, a ship, a top hat and a money bag- the Money bag is not a traditional piece though, But I think the rest are.
