How do you define trust?

I was hoping for more of an explanation of the process. Rather than I trust him or I don't trust him, but the process of deciding.

I trust everyone until they show me they cannot be trusted. Trust means confidence that the person is good for their word, and does what is right, not what is expediant. When it comes to business, I trust no one to make decisions for me except myself. This is not because I do not have confidence inothers, however. It is because I accept that I have no one to blame for my business errors except myself, when there is a problem.

It is difficult to decide who to trust.

ultimately i believe that no-one can be completely trusted.

there was even the whole "game-theory" used in the cold war which is based on "self-interest" that seemed quite successful in many situations i feel this to a certain degree this backs up my claim.

my "theory"(if thats not being to egotistic) of how to base my trust in someone is simple and works in practice for me.

"only trust a person with something that in the event they betray you your biggest loss is there friendship as opposed to the thing you lost."

i think that this "theory" also defines trust,
if you "trust" a person with something that is worth more than there friendship then the simple fact that you believe this "something" is worth more than there friendship shows that you don't "trust" them and instead you where being foolish.

I use a process that" weeds out" everyone that I should trust and leaves the person who will hurt me. I'm the last person to ask about this! Sad, but true.

I trust myself. Since all things are an aspect of the self, the rest is self explanitory and explained within the first statement. If I trust myself, I trust another. If I trust another, I trust myself.

Whom you decide to trust is one of the great conumdrums in managerial history. Entire fortunes, careers, dynastys, or regimes can hinge on that one single decision.

How do I define trust? Confidence!

I decide it based on my gut feeling, my intuition. It is my first, driving force behind all of my decisions. Then comes factual logic. But intuition is always first.

Trust is a feeling, but also an experience. It is earned over time, but once broken, can never be fully mended.

trust no one, anyone will screw you over given the chance whether they realise it or not. trust is the delusion that someone will not hurt you.
