I've always knew both as lint. I don't think I've ever heard it called belly button fluff.

I call lint 'tumble dryer fluff', so mine makes sense.

because it came out of your belly button not the tumble dryer. would be kind of strange saying you're tumble dryer needs cleaning because it's full of button fluff.

they are both lint. the lint in your belly button is from your clothing. duh.
