Since Christ did nothing from Himself but only what the Father showed Him, and you say you are called by His name, then should you not do likewise?

First, get her out of there and to somewhere safe. Secondly, call the police and report the violence. Third get a restraining order to keep him away from your daughter.

In the Bible, "an eye for an eye" is a reference that a judge should sentence people with a punishment that matches their crime. This scriptures shows that Christians can (and should) use the police and courts when needed.

But Jesus also said to "love your enemies, and pray for those who abuse you".

Once you have got her into a place of safety, then you bring in the "big guns". You begin to pray for the partner, and for your daughter, to get their lives turned around. Be supportive of your daughter, but keep her away from him for at least a year until he has proven that he has turned his life around.

As a decent citizen and a supportive mother you should help her get out of this situation and contact the police...(she doesn't need to give a statement. New laws allow the police to arrest someone for domestic violence without the partner having to complain). It's not about religion, it's about doing the decent thing!

my sister was hit Once by her husband. My father immediately called the police when she told him. The guy was arrested on the spot and taken to jail until he could make bond. the conditions of the bond was to have no contact with my sister until things got settled in court. It was the last time he ever laid a hand on her - I attribute that to the fact that the judge made him get some anger management help. This was a hard decision for my dad to make because of various reasons. but I truly believe he made the right one - although I was tempted to beat the crap out of the guy - but dad reminded me that wasn't the Christian thing to do. hope this helps. And if nothing else get her out of the situation before it escalates into something tragic. There are shelters - and if she has children - the consequences of abuse are life long - trauma for everyone. by taking action now - you may be saving her life. I hope you find the strength to do this. God bless you.

Scripture says to take the sinner aside and remonstrate with him/her. If that doesn't work, then have the congregation do so publicly. If they continue contumacious then you turn them out.

In today's terms that means:
A) Talk to both of them in the company of a marriage professional, a counselor or psychologist. If one or both refuse:
B) Call the cops! And if'n ya wants to get him busted, get him to crack YOUR chin! Then YOU'RE the one who has the option of preferring charges. So even if your daughter won't, you can still send the scuzzbucket off to the Big House.
C) Sadly, in practice, it's probably gonna take for him to d**n near kill her before she'll do anything. Some women seem unable to accept that being a victim is NOT a sign of love.

Bloody hell, even when the children are being beaten they still bring they are Christians into it!. Do only Christians do anything about domestic abuse? Spend less time thinking about your self and help your daughter. Get her out of there. Look up refuges, do something, except going on a answers page and making specific reference to your religion - I think that's obscene. I'm glad your not my mother. I do, however, wish you genuinely good look and hope she gets out of that relationship.

To bust her partner upside his (hopefully it's a man) head! J/K

Aside from calling the police, as a Christian, you should pray for your daughter.

Firstly, you have to defend your daughter...!she is your daughter!; actually there are many ways to demonstrate clearly about a crime. You have to call the police, and you can install cameras for recording it. You have to do something quickly.

Excuse me I'm studying English, excuse me my several mistakes.

You stand by your daughter and help her get out of that situation. No one has the right to hit someone and no loving God would ask you to stay. My heart goes out to your daughter I have been there myself and it is a horrible place to be. I can tell you that the situation will only continue to get worse. Help your daughter. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

As a human and a mother I think you know the answer to this one, unless you get off on watching your daughter get hurt.
