Can anyone tell me a little about the $2 Bill? Why do we not see them that often, and why did they never make it?

But why didn't it catch on like the other denominations?

I attached a link on the history. We don't see them often because they are rarely used, in fact most people still think that the $2 is a counterfeit bill and not issued by the US Secret Service. They are still made, however, because they aren't very popular, one printing can last for several years, so they don't need to be printed as often.

They used to be birthday gifts from old fogies in my generation when a dollar got one into the best movie houses and a bottle of soda or candy bar only cost ten cents (but not in those movie houses - may have been double or triple those prices) and gas was never above 50 cents a gallon.
