Mercy, I think he cracked open an actual Bible and read that baptism isn't the ticket to Heaven.

A few Catholics are still reeling over Mass not being said in Latin.
But Limbo is really a non-issue.
The Church has pondered the suggestion of Limbo for a few hundred years and has decided that it is not a good idea. Limbo was never official doctrine.
Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)
For centuries, people have wondered about children who died before they were baptized. The Bible does not explicitly state that they will go to heaven.
Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has been rejected.
The Church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.
With love in Christ.

Probably not as the old saying goes "Ignorance is Bliss". That is one reason so many are Catholic, all they have to do is go to mass once a week for a good hour of sleep! Catholasism is a "Dead" Religion & has been dying for years, hence the 70's period of "Jesus" teaching which has always been missing except at Christmas & Easter for the "Pagent" funds raising aspect of it all. Ask Urself why the Catholic Church only took action against priests caught doing altar boys when the Law Suites began hitting, if they really cared about the "Flock"??? John

You seem to have a number of misunderstandings with regard to the pope and Catholic coaching. Catholics do pass via the Bible - all Catholic teachings are based interior the bible and are not against the bible. The pope would not shop changing issues - the doctrines and dogmas of the Catholic Church do no longer substitute. they could be extra for sure defined as time is going on, yet they don't seem to get replaced. There are some disciplines (techniques of expressing doctrine and dogmas) that variety, yet it extremely is distinctive. it extremely is like driving to church instead of strolling - ameliorations to the cases and documents of individuals. it extremely isn't any longer changing biblical teachings. Catholics do no longer worship the pope - doing so could be against the Catholic faith. I have not have been given any concept what you you recommend approximately changing how human beings pray. there is extra beneficial than one thank you to desire - for all Christians. the assumption of Purgatory is interior the bible. according to risk you haven't any longer have been given an precise understanding of what purgatory is it extremely is why you may't see it. (see for extra counsel.) And as for the observe no longer being interior the bible - the observe "BIBLE" isn't interior the bible (neither is TRINITY) however the recommendations are all there. The pope unfold the reliable information of Jesus Christ and leads his church. And in case you think of all he gets is compliment, you incredibly need to start examining extra. And he's not the richest individual interior the international. there is a lot of misperception with regard to the wealth of the Catholic Church. The pope spends very much of his time in prayer and worship. He writes and delivers speeches to unfold God's observe. He attempt to apply his place to effect governments and others to be sure the rights and understand of much less fortunate human beings. you extremely could be cautious approximately judging the pope (Matt. 7:5).

Speaking as a theologian, the Pope hasn't changed anything. Quite to the contrary, he is the first to give an official teaching statement on the possibility of salvation for unbaptized infants. The concept of limbo was never officially accepted. This idea of prayerful hope is one that most Catholics have held for years based on logic - since we believe in an all-loving and merciful God, we also believe that God would not abandon His creation. This has as much to do with stillbirths and SIDS as it does abortions.
So does this make me nervous? No. He's doing his job.

I read that and he didn't change it by much. Just, instead of staying in Limbo, now babies have a door to heaven. This is a belief held by many mothers anyway. It's a tradition that was never written down, and the pope only said that there is no reason to not believe that unbaptized babies have a chance to make it to heaven. It was a message of hope.

Being a Mormon member, I can say that we have known that doctrine since a revelation given to Joseph Smith in which the Lord said those under the age of 8 years old, who die, are automatically saved. We have a loving Heavenly Father, He is kind and merciful, He knows what He is doing!

That's OLD News.
As stated by the Article this is agreed upon by Pope Benedict XVI, John Paul II, and Paul X. Yes, the article is correct, there is no clear scripture on this. It is good that the Pope is restating what has already been stated by prior Popes in the face of such an important current events (abortion).

Very few Roman Catholics in America give a damn what the official position is. They just get on with living their lives like any mainstream Americans.
The Pope can rant all he wants about how sinful birth control is but America's Catholics just ignore him and use contraceptives as much as anyone else, as has been shown in polls.

Sounds like you didn't really read the article.
"the church has no formal doctrine on the matter."
And never has.
hahahahaha
Nerd, you are a total moron if you believe that trash.
Edit: because some theologians taught it as doctrine, and it never has been.
