I get upset when a major religious figure (aka the pope) known all throughout the world because of his position as the leader of a major religion. Is undeserving of the title as he lacks the moral character to be in that position. For him to be pope is like saying that the virginia tech killer should be sainted. Regardless of what I believe, it is an insult to me and to christians and catholics that someone lacking the moral fiber to stand up for what is right, even at the cost of thier own life should become pope.

To my knowledge, there is no singular position equivalent to pope in judism or islam. If there was, and they elected a nazi then I would be making this statement about them as well.

Actually I'm pretty sure that the panzer pope and mother theresa will be in hell (if this mythology was real).

panzer pope well hes a nazi, and mother theresa tortured and tormented people who were looking to her for care and treatment as part of her policy.

+ Limbo +

The Church has pondered the suggestion of Limbo for a few hundred years and has decided that it is not a good idea. Limbo was never official doctrine.

Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)

For centuries, people have wondered about children who died before they were baptized. The Bible does not explicitly state that they will go to heaven.

Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has been rejected.

The Church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.

+ Pope Benedict XVI +

Pope Benedict XVI was drafted into the Hitler Youth and the Nazi German Army just like every other non-Jewish German male. He was not given a choice.

The Pope is not and never has been a Nazi. He unfortunately was born and grew up in a country ruled by the Nazi party.

Every draftee into the Hitler Youth and the Nazi German Army was not a Nazi.

Just hope and pray that you do not have to make a decision to be executed or live and fight for a government in which you do not believe.

Thank God that you and I live in a very different world that the Pope did in 1930s and 1940s Germany. Or do we?

+ With love in Christ.

When you get to Heaven, you will find it mostly full of Mormons. That's because if you're a Mormon today, you can pick anybody from the past, such as Julius Caesar or Shakespeare, and if you can show some connection with yourself (maybe just appearing to you in a vision - hey, it worked for Paul) - you can get a "proxy baptism" and turn them into Mormons.

No matter if they were Catholics or Hindus or atheists when they were alive, just do the prescribed ritual and perhaps pay a fee and bingo, they're Mormons for all eternity.

The more I learn about Heaven the more I want to go someplace else. Maybe Hell is uncomfortably hot, but people do survive in Phoenix and Las Vegas.

The company in Hell will be much more interesting than anything available in Heaven. If you have to spend eternity among others, which would you prefer?

1. Mother Teresa, Billy Graham, a whole bunch of Popes and martyrs, Jerry Falwell, Ted Haggard, Pat Robertson, George Bush, Saint Augustine, Joan of Arc.

2. Albert Einstein, Mohandas Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, Carl Sagan, Isaac Asimov, Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Richard Dawkins, Socrates.

Seems to me the conversations will be much more interesting in Hell. Spending eternity with people like Pat Robertson looks like Hell to me.

CLASSIC RELIGION ESPECIALLY CATHOLIC DOGMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As long as I have been on this site I have said that Religion, being Man Made, often Changes where as Christianity does NOT!!!!!! In this instance the TRUTH IS that ANY CHILD that does NOT reach the "Age of Accountability" WILL GO to HEAVEN at the time of that childs death!!!!!!!!! That is also to say that there IS NO LIFE OTHER THAN BIOLOGICAL IN THE WOMB!!!!! Genesis 2:7 CLEARLY STATES: "Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and "Breathed" into his nostrils the "BREATH OF LIFE" (Nuchshamah / Hebrew); (Human,Soul Life) and man became a living being!" THIS DOES NOT EXCUSE USING ABORTION AS A FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL HOWEVER!!!!!!! John

I don't get people like you. Why are you obsessing with what the pope says? I don't come on here and go "Hey, Rabbi so and so said this, or Iman what's his name said that" Why do you obsess over something you not only don't believe in, but doesn't concern you at all?

that is yet another logical inconsistency in Christianity(ask your self, ask your self!) maximum Christian you will ever meet make it easier to to understand infants/babies are harmless till they get a wager to hearken to approximately God and choose/reject him. although, the entire baptism equipment seems to point in any different case. I recommend why might there be any could baptise infants in the event that they are harmless? And as certainly one of your different answerers suggested, unique sin seems to point the your interpretation is real too. The church I went to for a pair of years as a teenager did not baptise infants/babies, it grew to become into basically adults who had the surprising to pick to try this or not. They weren't a extensive denomination, they could not even exist anymore, i understand the incredibly church has been grew to become into someones domicile. yet their have been Christians at one degree(a minimum of) who strongly disagreed with what you're asserting, and that i will't help yet ask your self why this is. for sure as you recommend, the theory that new born infants who ensue to die without listening to with regard to the bible will flow to hell is adverse. nearly all of people would be sickened by potential of that concept. yet then why have self belief in Christianity in any respect? that is sparkling that a minimum of a few Christians have self belief this, so why be linked with them in case you do not? i in my view have not got an answer to that. i think of that's a case of people ignoring the bits they do in comparison to and focusing on the positives. that is given me an theory for yet another question nevertheless, so we are going to see how we flow with that :)

Oh, cram your hate!
The Church recognizes water baptism, baptism of blood, and baptism of desire. Those kids are just fine.
