I had a bank account that was over £190.00 overdrawn - since then they have closed it and not contacted me about it. (Over a year ago)

I recently went to go and pay it off and they said someone will be in touch to let me know if i have to pay it back,

I got a letter today saying that i do not have to!!!!!!!!!!!! Wohooooooooooooooooo!

Anyone else had a similar exp?

No, but I'm sure many people in the UK want to know the name of that bank.

This is unusual in the US, but maybe more common in the UK. Keep the letter for proof in the future.

dont get excited too soon.

Who is to say that they have not written it off and marked your credit rating against you.

You need to check your credit file/score!!

If this is a mistake of the bank, you need to ask them how the mistake occured.
