It's a generational thing. I was brought up to open the door for a lady. let her go before me into an elevator and the same when she gets off, hold her chair when seating her at a Restaurant. Carry her bundles. And always compliment her on how "lovely" she looks. If a man is smart, he will continue to do all of the above after the courtship.

Yes. That is one of the things that makes a girl follow through with the courtship, gentlemanship.

When I first started dating my boyfriend he would opne the door for me and I thought this was really sweet which is one thing that made me fall for him. Later on in our relationship he confessed that he can't unlock the door from the driver side so he HAS to open the passenger door first! hahahaha, he's silly.
But he still opens all doors for me first, whether he has to or not! Chivalry isn't all that dead.

If they don't they should. I'd like to think that chivalry is not dead. My fiance still opens the car door for me & I love it.

Guys that have been taught to be gentlemen often will do so. I have dated men that still do this, it's so refreshing to find a man that does this.
My hat is off to those of you who still do this, it is a wonderful to see that there are still gentlemen in our world. It makes a woman feel special, cared about and appreciated.
Thanks guys.
