That would depend on which trans you have.

Did you also know that many '02 SportTracs are E85 (alternative fuel) capable?
To see if yours is, look at the 8th character of your VIN.
If that character is a "K" then yours is a flex-fuel vehicle and you should also read the chapter about fuel, (page 169)

DO NOT PUT TYPE F IN THAT TRANS that is completely the wrong fluid and can cause serious damage.

that vehicle specified Mercon V trans fluid. do not put in dex3/merc fluid. use mercon V fluid only.
