truth serum!

Sodium pentothal is an ultra-short acting barbiturate. We used to use it a lot for the induction of anesthesia, but not so much anymore. (propofol is better and now it's even cheaper!)

It is NOT a truth serum any more than alcohol is, except in a fictional setting.

When sedated, most people just get quiet. There may be some disinhibition, but I wouldn't trust anything said under the influence of pentothal or any other sedative.

Sodium thiopental or sodium pentathol is a barbituate. It is used as an anasthetic or for euthanasia at vet clinics or research labs. It's not a perfect "truth serum," just inhibits some higher functioning in your brain so if you're trying hard to lie...you'll fall apart under the influence of the drug....ideally.

It is a serum injected into patients that takes them to a certain state of conscienciousness where they can be asked questions and presumably will answer truthfully. It has been used by law enforcement in the old days and also by psychiatrist to help uncover hidden thoughts, etc.

it's a barbiturate used for induction of general anesthesia. it's administered intravenously, and in doses of 4-5 mg/kg it will render a person unconscious in a matter of seconds. it is commonly called truth serum in the general populace, but that's really a misnomer. in sub-anesthetic doses, in can cause disinhibition in the same manner as getting really drunk, but it wouldn't "force" you to reveal information if you didn't want to.

Just find a CIA agent on the nearest street corner and ask him for some. CIA guys are nice people and are always glad to help, also many of them are into flowers, sort of like Meet the Fockers.

Truth serum basically. Those injected with it have the tendency to tell the truth.
