my side: 2 sisters, 1 brother and me (girl)
my father had 3 girls and 1 boy, his father had 2 boys and a girl
his side: 3 boys.
his dad had 3 boys, his grandfather had 3 boys, but his grandfather's father had one boy and one girl
(the reason i'm going with the father is b/c the guys determine the sex, right?)
if we have a kid, what are the odds of having a girl?

Technically the odds are 50/50. The time of the month when you have sex can help to determine what sex you will have. If you want a girl try to have sex about 3 days prior to ovulation. The idea behind this is that "male" sperm travel faster than "female" sperm, but the "female" sperm live longer. So by the time you ovulate, the "male" sperm would have died. But the "female" sperm would just be getting to the egg.
Also, if it were me, I'd assume based on the amount of boys in your family that I'd be having a boy. But like I said, there's no scientific reasoning for that.
Good luck, hope this info helped!

Actually everyone thinks your chances are 50/50 when in fact you have a higher rate or having a boy at 51% and a 49% chance of having a girl. My father has 3 girls, my hubby's father has 3 boys and 1 girl. We have 4 boys and 32 weeks with boy 5. My sister has 2 boys. My sister in law (the only girl on my hubbys side) has one daughter. Everyone else has boys LOL. so i think its just a matter of luck :) which sperm gets there first LOL.

Mom of 4 boys and 32 weeks with boy 5!!

50/50.... It absolutely does NOT matter how many boys, or girls are in your families. It will always be 50/50.

I think you are probably about 50/50. Either way, you'll have a beautiful baby that you'll both love dearly.
