People lose weight on 6 meals a day.

If you eat less but don't exercise, you'll stay the same weight.

You have to eat less and exercise more.

By eating less I don't mean 2 meals a day, 3 meals a day. Even snacking on things like fruit, water, raisons and crackers are OK.

Don't eat after 7:00pm because your body takes longer to burn off fat, therefore you put on weight.

You should always eat breakfast, its the most important meal of the day. Lots of people say it yet lots of people DON'T do it!

No don't do that! That's probably not what you want to hear but here's something even better: eat every 3 hours! Ok it sounds strange but it's true. Your metabolism is kept going by exercise and eating. And the faster the metabolism the more calories you body burns. So eat healthily-and eat smaller portions. Take your time eating, don't rush it down. When you get hungry have a healthy snack-maybe some fruit and a glass of water. Your metabolism will stop if you only have two meals a day. Then you body will go into survival mode. Everything you eat your body stores as fat, just in case you go another long period without eating. This means you will in fact get fatter. That's why camels of humps of fat; they don't know when they will next eat so they store it up. That's like us! So eat smaller healthier portions, but more regularly. Also drink a lot of water as this will help your metabolism. Trust me this is the best method (I've tried yours and mine). Please don't starve yourself-it makes the matter worse. Good luck, hope I've helped!

look, u hv to start having breakfast and not just lunch and tea. in fact like what most of them hv said, do not skip breakfast! it's the famous rule that in order to lose weight, u need to hv breakie! if ur intention is a steady weight lost, i'd suggest that u hv 6 small meals a day and stick to a balanced nutrition type instead of those infamous low fat/carb/protein/calorie ones. they will not work in the long run and instead, those type of diets will only kill your system. have a balanced diet but mk sure u don't over-consume the fats/carbs/proteins though. for example, pre-breakfast: a slice of lemon with warm water. then breakfast: a small bowl of oats with banana n 2 eggs (wo the yolks if u're worried about the cholestrol level). pre-lunch: a handful of almonds or a cup of yogurt. lunch: tuna salad with a serving of fruit. tea: green tea or maybe an apple. dinner: poached salmon with lots of raw veggies. and u could also hv a glass of milk before going to bed. in addition to the "organised" diet, try exercising. a lite one will do good. maybe u can try swimming or joggin 3 times a day. then add in some lite ones like yoga/pilates. they will definitely tone u up big time! be more discipline and u will notice a big change in ur physical appearance and ur mind as well. and don't forget the 8 hours of sleep too, hun'! tk care~ xxx

even if you do lose - its just water weight and muscle and you also will slow down your metabolism a lot. as soon as you start eating normal again you will gain even more back.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

1800kcal A DAY IS A GOOD DIET!!

What you must understand is:: Eating less then 1800kcal
you digestive system goes into starvation and everything you eat will be processed into FAT!!

(You want to be LOOSING FAT not gaining it, So please try to stick with 1800)

Breakfast is a MUST!!! Once you have it, your metabolism has started, and increases the amount of food you digest (Soo its kinda like good cheating....your body looses more weight quicker!!!!)

Just by cutting out dinner each night you will loose weight but this will be a VERY slow process!!! I advise you not to cut dinner out!!

Can i suggest you try a physical activity? You don't have to work out like one of those Gym Fanatics!!

Perhaps you run 3 times a week?

Start of by running for 30 seconds with a 90 second walking period (Do this for firdt week/two)

Every week there after increase the amount of running and decrease the amount of walking a little each week.

What you can do is buy ankle weights, and wear them 24/7
(You will loose more calories, as your carrying more weight)

Without wishing to seem impolite Type ' weight loss ' into the search for questions box and you will see the answers to the 20 questions like yours that clutter ' Answers ' every day, together with their standard answers.

Type in also ' Answers swamped with weight loss questions!?' and you will see what regular contributors thing of this problem.

As far as weight loss is concerned I will give my stock answer I am afraid, however it is interesting to see how close this is ( I have been using it for over 2 months), to a recent paper from University of California. They did a meta-analysis of all the work on weight loss over the past few years. ( summary) It showed that 2/3 of people who diet yo-yo to a higher weight, none of the faddy diets of diet pills work and that rapid weight loss doubles heart attack risk!

They seemed to suggest the only hope was modest calorie reduction + EXERCISE.

This is a news report of the article:

I have to admit I have a 'stock' answer for this question, since if you look it appears 20-30 times every day!!!

Type 'guaranteed weight loss' into google, you will find 1 1/2 million sites!

Look around you if ANY of these things worked would we be getting so overweight?

We are what we eat, but we are at least as much what we don't do. Calorie intakes in 1900 and 1950 were higher than they are now, we just don't use them up!

Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg. Drop to about 1,500 calories.

Take a healthy amount of exercise 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise per day 4-5 days a week. I hate to think what percentage of the UK population does that 2%? 5%?

I have seen hundreds of questions with this same pattern :- I am fat, tell me where on line I can get this super diet or herbal/dangerous/illegal drug that I hear will fix it for me in 10 minutes without the need for me to get off the couch!

No fixes pal , less in more out, its the only way!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

Don't eat after 7 pm -- get enough sleep -- your body will relax at night and so will your digestive system. you will wake up refreshed.

Breakfast could be a protein calcium shake with "Alive" multivitamins if you have trouble eating breakfast-- i would NOT skip lunch. Dinner can be a small pice of meat with veggies and water with a little lemon in it (not too much lemon)

Lemon is also a great Salt Substitute.

Walk in safe areas, exercise moderately so you don't injure your body-- treat yourself and your body with kindness and do not starve yourself.

breakfast is the most improtant meal of your day cutting breakfast may slow down your metabolism and ability to focuse also, including the fact that you only eat breakfast and drink tea.You may lose weight but will most likely gain it back. I would suggest you eat 3 well balanced meals a day.

You need to eat more meals just keep them small. If you only eat lunch, you'll pig out later on in the day and get even fatter.
