I'm afraid of the dark. I know the reason. I am afraid of being alone. I know the reason for that too- it has to do with childhood.

I totally agree. Fear of the dark, and the creepy-crawlies that lurk within it, is completely instinctive and originated so long ago that we legitimately feared becoming some critter's midnight snack!

Because in the dark, you cannot see stuff. So whatever's out there is unknown. And it is human nature to fear the unknown.

i beleive its because we cannot see what is there when it is dark, so when we are in the dark we may think there is something there waiting to kill us or something.
