human mind is powerful and the universe is INFINITE. anything can happen. what if over the evolution of man, his need for supreme guidance (and excuse) CREATED a supreme diety, and therefore anything that is an emotional issue in the believers psyche at the time becomes Gods law. wow. that is scary. thoughts?

what if we are like one of those scary little worlds from star trek. "captain, there seems to be a diety these people created with their minds. it hates everything thats different and causes death and havoc. it wants us dead." then they have to flee, amid 60s soundtrack.

p.s. i dont watch star trek, but it was a good example.

That's one theory. The mass amount of human Expectation and combined mental might caused the various gods and goddesses to come into existance, probably from rememberance of dead anscestors whose stories got taller and taller. This is a more 'democratic' view, as the number of faithful your faith has would actually matter and global conquest could be an important goal.
or
Their is a Divine essence to the universe that conforms to our expectations of It, so It will wear many masks/personas in order to interact with and influence us. With this view, numbers of faithful doesn't matter as much. Converting others isn't important, just finding common ground is good enough.
or
There is a single God who, for some reason, only gave the True Story to a single tribe of homeless Hebrews. All other ideas about human spirituality are completely false and paths to Damnation. This is the 99% Atheist view since the view is about One True Faith with all others being fake.

Boy, God's so much easier to believe in than all that confusing stuff you are trying to explain. God created man, not the other way around. He is perfect and we are not. There is no way the human could ever have that much power within himself. God created us for His purposes not our own. God bless!!!!

If man created God then God would be flawed. He would contradict himself since we invented him to be flawless. Thus he becomes invalid and everything he created becomes invalid and we then cease to exsist because the supreme authority of God and Jesus dictate that they are the source of all life.

So basically if we created God then we will ourselves out of existence.

Believing that we are more than the sum of our parts is what lead us to creat god in the first place. If we were wrong the first time, and our proposition is the same, then you would be wrong again thinking that he is real (see first sentence).

You are talking about a conditional god. Within a set of logical definitions, god exists cause we created it. A god that creates everything does not exist.

Then everyone would be right? Hindus, Christians, Muslims? I'd say that's slightly more likely than any other guess.

EDIT: Is this in celebration of 4/20?
