For some of us, unfortunately the world may end today!!! Just look at those who perished in the Virginia Tech tragedy!!! For them this world ended all too soon! Seeing that none of us as any garantee of tomorrow, let us press onward towards the mark of His calling, which is in Christ Jesus! In other words, make sure we are READY to go if this should be our LAST day on earth!!!
The Mayans calander ends in that year and some have predicted the end of the world in that year. We shall have to wait and see, for the Bible tells us that NO MAN knows the hour or day(exact time) when the world will end and Christ shall return!
But I will also say this to you because I can see that you are truly concerned about everything that is coming upon this crazy planet. Christ did not leave us in the dark, that that day of Tribulation should take us by surprise either. For when we shall see the White Horse rider, representing a FALSE world PEACE going forth in the name of 'world peace' and yet creating the conditions for a GREAT future Third World War, then we shall know that we truly are in the end times, and the last days!!! Then the First Seal of Revelation 6 will have been opened and we are now in the TRIBULATION spoken of by the prophet Daniel more then 2500 years ago!!!

Wasn't the world supposed to end seven years ago? Now its 2012. I think people need to stop dwelling on the end of the world and work on living in the present.

I have read the Mayan calendar that indicated the end of the world on Dec 21, 2012, but I don't think anyone knows totally for sure what they meant by that.

No it will end in the year 2010 by a giant metior that will be the size of Montana and hit in the Rocky Mountains area, hurling car-sized boulders thousands of miles. Also sending millions of tons of ash to the atmosphere, killing all that survive the origional impact, and it will emit radiation killing all plants and animals so all remaining humans will starve and will exterminate all humans and animals making Earth un-inhabitable for many millenia.

Or.... There will be the Biblical end of the World. The Anti-Christ will assume head of the U.N. and re-instate the temple of Babalyon. Then he will declare himself God. He will force all to recieve His mark and will be Damned to the firy pits of Hell. All who oppose will recieve God's mark and be gaurented a place amongst His angels in heaven. Then the final set of 5 trumpets will signal the end of the seven year reign of the Anti-Christ. There will be a great battle between Heaven and Hell resulting in the 1000 year reign of Christ himself.
I hope that answers your question.

No, I don't.

And whatever you read is referring to the fact that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012. There are no accompanying Mayan myths or predictions declaring that the world will end on that date.

They said in 2000 it would be, also in 1997 with that asteroid, i read them all from somewhere. The end of the world will be when people have sex on the street, when they find the cure to aging, when space travel is availible, etc. i reckon around 2050 at the rate we are accelerating

No. Everyone thought the world was going to end in 1999 because of a prophecy by Nostradamus and the whole Y2K scare. This is just one more of those doomsayer prophecies that will never materialize.

It's knowledge that is forbidden to man, but given the state of affairs in the world compared to the signs that would "signal" Christs' return is near, I would say it's NOT impossible for it to occur by 2012.

You read wrong. If you people would read the Bible, you would have figured out by now that the world will not end in our lifetimes. If you do the math, you will see that God's days are 2000 of our years each and that means that if we are going by what he is calling 2000 of his years that's 4,000,000 of our years, so we still have 3,998,000 years left before God runs Satin off and the resurrection begins, therory wise anyway. Read revelations sometime.

Neither Jesus or the Angels in Heaven when the hour will be..
People are always making predictions about the end of the world but they never provide any substancial proof..
If it does end in 2012, people need to be getting ready..
