She is faithful and virtuous, and holy, decent, and loving, and kind. She refrains from vile and vain conversations. Her heart is dedicated to tending to the affairs of our home and our children, to me and to God. She IS indeed the image of a Godly woman. An she's ALL mine.
I should thank God every day for her.

Yes she is. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying she's perfect. But, with CHrist in our lives, and His love in our relationship, we endure! AND we try to keep Him first in ALL that we do.

I'm trying SO hard to see a question here.

Perhaps you're asking for some kind of absolution: "I should thank God every day for her" implies that you don't and posting this schmaltz might be your way of laying out your guilt. I dunno, I thought confession was meant to be a private thing.

What would I know, I'm just an atheist wife who essentially has no life other than caring for five elderly, infirm relatives. *sigh* I wonder what it's like being virtuous...

Jay Dee....that's a cool dedication .....I am truly happy for you.

Isn't it amazing how many people, felt the need to belittle you for your happiness. Most of the responses I read were from young men and women....It was obvious....... I guess what bothers me the most about the responses and the usual questions asked is the fact that most of the people responding have no clue what you are saying and sharing, and worst of all could care less about anything other than themselves..........May all that had a smart @ss answer to J's tribute , be ashamed that you have to put someone down to make yourself feel better, that evidently the life you are living is as horrible as the soul you portray by opening your vile mouth. And lastly, may the fleas of a thousand camel's infest your butt-crack and burrow themselves in so deep you will have to stick your head up your @ss to get some relief! May God bless you and yours!

I'm glad that you love your wife and that she's the image of the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. I also think it's wonderful that you praise her in public, and yes, you should thank God for her every day.

But as a Christian woman who struggles daily with her temper and her sarcasm, I have to wonder what your wife's secret -- or not so secret -- struggles are. We all have those sins which return to haunt us again and again, no matter how much we love God and want to live lives that are pleasing to Him.

I'm sure that she loves you and is happy that you think so highly of her. But do you ever talk to her about the things that make her angry, that hurt her, that she fights against every day of her life? Just be sure to remember that she's a woman, not a plaster saint on a pedestal. . .she has hurts, needs, wants, and desires of her own.

Edit:

crusadawannabe, God bless you. You are a great woman to have done all of those things!

WoW!!!!! You are a blessed man! A good wife is truly from the Lord, and a virtuous woman is HARD to find...especially these days! As a bachelor, I can sure appreciate what a blessing it must be to have such a wife who will both free you to do your business (as opposed to spending half your time, like me, cooking and cleaning and taking care of household stuff) and who is a blessing in fellowship and love, and who is one with you in the flesh!

Thanks for posting this...it's wonderful to see someone be so blessed and to know that they appreciate it.

I need a drink to wash that vitriole/ode down with.

I am a woman who has fought on the front lines of war.

Still have boots full of sand.

I have served 10 years, and still had two kids.

Managed single-handedly while my husband was deployed.

I took care of the house, kids, bills, and myself last.

AND STILL took my butt to PT every morning at 5:00 am.

I have been mamma and daddy.

Good cop and bad cop.

The landscaper, boo-boo kisser and "fixer".

I thank God I know how to hustle and depend on myself to get the jobs done that need to be done.

**Guess I don't qualify as virtuous though, I keep a wine cabinet and I like daisy duke shorts, dont cha know.
