I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

The best way to lose weight is to change your life style.
Medicines are just a weak willed persons method of looking for a quick fix. They can also do more damage than good in the end.
It has been said that an obese person that loses weight only to put it all back on again is at a higher risk of a heart attack than an obese person who doesn´t diet. Obviously, as obese people are a high risk anyway it is best to keep it off once it´s gone. Medicines can´t help forever.

Without wishing to seem impolite Type ' weight loss ' into the search for questions box and you will see the answers to the 20 questions like yours that clutter ' Answers ' every day, together with their standard answers.
Type in also ' Answers swamped with weight loss questions!?' and you will see what regular contributors thing of this problem.
As far as weight loss is concerned I will give my stock answer I am afraid, however it is interesting to see how close this is ( I have been using it for over 2 months), to a recent paper from University of California. They did a meta-analysis of all the work on weight loss over the past few years. ( summary) It showed that 2/3 of people who diet yo-yo to a higher weight, none of the faddy diets of diet pills work and that rapid weight loss doubles heart attack risk!
They seemed to suggest the only hope was modest calorie reduction + EXERCISE.
This is a news report of the article:

I have to admit I have a 'stock' answer for this question, since if you look it appears 20-30 times every day!!!
Type 'guaranteed weight loss' into google, you will find 1 1/2 million sites!
Look around you if ANY of these things worked would we be getting so overweight?
We are what we eat, but we are at least as much what we don't do. Calorie intakes in 1900 and 1950 were higher than they are now, we just don't use them up!
Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg. Drop to about 1,500 calories.
Take a healthy amount of exercise 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise per day 4-5 days a week. I hate to think what percentage of the UK population does that 2%? 5%?
I have seen hundreds of questions with this same pattern :- I am fat, tell me where on line I can get this super diet or herbal/dangerous/illegal drug that I hear will fix it for me in 10 minutes without the need for me to get off the couch!
No fixes pal , less in more out, its the only way!

I think in extreme cases when a person is overweight and they need help it can be beneficial. Sometimes medication can be a cheaper alternative to having weightloss surgery done or something. I think it depends on the person and what their doctor feels is best for them. However if you are just worried about 10-15 extra pounds I think diet and exercise are what you would need. If at all possible I think weightloss should be done the old fashioned way. The more you strive to eat right and exercise and the less medicine you take your body will do its best to achieve its maximum health capacity.

Medicines/pills and wonderdrugs cannot reduce. They try to control your hunger and sometimes it is harmful.Donot wate money on that.It is my personal experience.Eat less and do exercise that is the bestway.Avoid fatty food chocolates, ice creams etc.If possible have a vegetarian diet.Vitamin tablets can be taken as food supplement.
I had tried Slim Fat,Slim Tone tablets and many more for about 4 years without any result. But with eat less and vegetarian life style and modreate exercise I am now only 54 kg.

I personally am against it. For me personally - I need to learn new habits that will stay with me for my life time. I do not want to be dependent on any drug in any form to help me loose weight - because what happens when the pills are gone - the weight comes back. I need something that is a way of life .... and I certainly dont want that to be popping pills.

I think they are utter rubbish...The only way is to eat a healthy blanaced diet and excercise. If any of the pills available actually worked wouldn't they all be over the TV and available on prescription? Wouldn't fat people be a thing of the past?

I think it's sad! Your overweight for a number of reasons.
Heredity, medical condition, or over-eating and no excercise.
that's all, if there was some magical pill to shed all the weight off, bring it on!

ignore dave B. There is a drug only on prescription for obesity. It's relatively new but has great feedback.
your BMI has to be over 30. My sister lost five stone on them and she feels great.
it is called Xenical (Oristat). it works by absorbing 30 - 40 % of your fat. it has to be taken along with a low fat diet. if you eat too much fat you will get stomach cramps and oily loose stools.
just type Xenical into your browser bar and you will get info on them.
best of luck
