Sort of. The Truth of the matter can be found in God's Word. Religion is an illusion. Man's desire for immortality is innate, a glimpse into our future (of what might have/be) if we seek Him.

No. Firstly there are to many people who have had experiences from varying cultures.
Secondly-What's more frightening going into the unknown and meeting a being that you can't reason with-God, or simply going into nothing. Surely God and Life after death is the more frightening prospect?

Its a fact and its the goodwill of our Creator who desires us to live in eternal life with it. Imagine the China 1st Emperor Qin search high and low to stay immortal?

I'd say it's a way of beating the fear of just rotting in the ground. After all, aren't the biggest fears the fear of the unknown?

Of course it is. Its also away to stop certain activities that one maybe permitted into the pearly gates. Its amazing what people will make themselves believe in order to "live forever".

God placed eternity in the heart of man so that man would spend his entire life seeking meaning. God is the ulitmate source of meaning. So yes, I agree with you.
