they are afraid
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

First of all you make the assumption that the devil isn't scared of god -- actually you are partially right, unless it is possible for god to be scared of himself. Surprised? If god created everything, then he created good and evil. Since god cannot create something that he isn't, he must be both good and evil. God himself says he is a jealous god -- do you really think he would give so much of his creation over to the devil if it weren't himself? What we consider good and evil mean nothing to god -- he just is (but he just is everything!) So to say that the devil leaves when you pray is a delusion of self-comfort. God never leaves you, nor does the devil.

The devil is bold, but he does know his limits. He is ineffective against serious praying Christians because they belong to Jesus and he knows that he cannot touch them. He taunts God and erroneously believes that he has time enough to overthrow God. The devil is pure evil, so hatred is all he knows and can do. When the Christian stops praying the devil will come back, which is why it is important for the Christian to lead a prayerful life.

I have no clue where you get that from but the devil is scared of God that's why he leaves when you pray or speak the name of Jesus the devil doesn't have control over anything but his self he wants you to believe he controls you but really you control him he cant do anything to you unless you let him he can try and when he does you can tell he to get under you feet and guess what he has to do get under your feet you have that much power over him just let God lead you at all times

For most people the Devil is not a literl being that is bothering them but rather an aspect of their own mind. If they believe that this Devil (Negative thoughts) will leave if you pray then it does. Not because it is a Devil that fears God but that is the ideas the person has.

The devil is afraid of God. Even the devil knows who made him. The devil knows God's word is sovereign and it cannot be changed.

Because the name of Jesus does have power. the devil already has been defeated. The devil cannot do anything without permission and God answers our prayers, do when we pray to God to free us from the devil, the devil has no choice but to listen, as God answers our prayers.

to talk about god and the devil is just ot really talk about what people do not understand.. My guess is that god and the devil is the same thing. if your thought process does not function properly or you feel sick, you might think its the devil, if you feel ok and see something that is not right, then its the devil. when something is corrected to your liking or to the way you believe things should be, then its god,
when in most cases its mother nature doing her thing and man putting a labbel on it. lol :)

The Bible tells us to resist the devil and he will flee from you.
But the devil never leaves for long. Besides, he does try to mess with your mind when you pray. So he does not leave necessarily when you pray. I ask you; have you prayed and while praying you have thought of something sinful or inappropriate? That is the devil who does this.
Remember that it is our job as Christians, to
RESIST,
the devil before he will take flight. If you just
PASSIVELY,
let him keep sending sinful thoughts into your head, why would he flee from you?

Your not Lost and Found, you are just plain Lost. The Devil is afraid of God because God defeated Satan at the Cross. Satan flees because there is power in the name and in the blood of Jesus. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, that includes you and your Father.

Who told you that the Devil doesn't fear God?! The Scriptures tell us clearly that Satan, the Devil, greatly fears and trembles at the slightest presence of God, and so does his fellow fallen angels!
Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied (Job 1:8-9).
But what Satan fears most about God is His predestined plan of salvation for mankind, the new heaven, and new earth to come for His chosen people who are made holy, perfectly moral, and volitionally loving.
He will prove that He is victorious over evil and evil beings who follow Satan’s pathway to destruction!
Personal peace of mind about Satan and evil comes from being God-centered and leading a faithful God centered life. God rules forever!
