the smell is especially bad in the bathrooms. i've got the windows open and the doors to the bathroom closed. it's been 4 days now. how do i rid the apartment of smells and how unsafe is this for little children or a first trimester fetus. thank you.

If you are concerned, call your family doctor and ask him/her.
I would think that after 4 days they should be through painting, and the smells should start growing less.
I would be more concerned about the fetus than the kids. Since it is mainly in the bathroom and they don't spend that much time in there. good luck
