my 2 year old son is covered in little whelps that look like bug bites, He goes to a babysitter while I and his father are at work, but none of the other kids are bothered by it, and at home his father and I don't have any problems with it. I don't know if it is some kind of insect bite, or if maybe it's his allergies, should I have an allergy test done to see what he is allergic to? If anyone has had a similar problem please let me know!!

I would take him to the doctor and have the allergy tests run. It might be no big deal, but he could be allergic to something such as peanuts and you need know about it. You've had your warning with the welts. If this is an allergy, the next time might be anaphylactic shock.

Regardless, I'd be a bit concerned about the welts. Is the babysitter's house infested with fleas, fire ants, or bedbugs or something? If so, I'd want that problem fixed, too.

Yeah, I would probably have him taken to the doctor for him to have an allergy test. You would be amazed at what he could be allergic to. You may also ask if she is feeding him anything different? Maybe a food allergy? Or if she has animals it could be fleas. I know you said the other kids don't have it but my husband and sons can get bit by fleas and not swell up at all, me on the other hand swell up big time.

It could be an allergic reaction to laundry detergent. Have you recently switched brands? Or flea bites could look like that also, is he around animals? You defiantly need to get him to a doctor. When my son was 3 he had a similar problem, by trial and error we found out it was the Laundry detergent. But we went to the doctor right away.Good luck!

It sounds like he may have hives, which indicates an allergic reaction to something. This could be an allergy to a food or environmental allergy such as to pets. Hives generally are quite itchy and tend to change in size and location. I suggest his doctor have a look at them for a proper diagnosis.

Do they dissapear once he is home or do they take a few days. I would say its either an allegic reaction to something at the baby sitters house or maybe flea bites. We had fleas once and my husband never got one bite but i had several on me. I never had this problem with either of my children but would probably take him to the doctor if they don't go away in a couple days or keep reappearing.

Time to see the doctor. Whether it's bug bites or an allergic reaction, or some kind of rash, his doc needs to look at it.

No, don't put deoderant on him, especially without talking to his pediatrician. The aluminum in most deoderants would probably be bad at that age. I would try bathing him less. I think kids that age are only supposed to be bathed every other day. GIve his pits and stuff and water sponge down if it gets too bad. How do you wash his clothes? Could that be a factor?

You need to get him to the doctor. If you have any pets this could be flea bites, and he could be very allergic to them. Children develop allergic reations to different things at different times. Get him to the doctor and let them take a look at him. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Flea bites sound very possible. It is the right time of year for them to start biting. Do you or the sitter have indoor/outdoor pets?
