Departing from LHR to LIS, during taxi I noticed a green "jumbo" that seemed to have a md-11 tail...very short plane..like a 747SP...
It was left there, with signs of rust...looks like trash...does anyone know what the hell is that??
Tks

It's a fire training mock-up - it has to reflect the most common types of aircraft in use today so the fire services can practice on it.

Therefore, it has a hump (like a jumbo), engines on the wings (like most other jetliners), and an engine in the tail (like an MD-11)

If you ever see it flying, something must have gone badly wrong with the training exercise!

* are you it's md-11 ? md-11 looks like DC-10,
a 3-engine commercial jet, the vertical tail has the an engine at the base.

* md-11 seems like a failure in terms of sales, so signs of rust could the sign of "seldom use"

* a 747 has a hump at the front 1/4th of fuselage

It's probably a Cypress Airlines MD11. The tail of the MD11 is noticeably smaller than the tail of the DC10 and it make the fuselage appear shorter and the plane in general to look smaller.

Every airport has one, or something similar. It's a mock-up for the airport fire-fighting service to practise on.
