I was thinking of starting an Atheist Prayer Group.

Not to pray, of course, but to receive prayer. It will be a group that will constantly offer themselves as objects of prayer to religious people.

We'll be prayed to all day long. They can wish us to hell, they can pray for us to find their gods, etc, etc.

It'll be a sacrifice for humanity. The religious people will be happy, because they will actually have people who wanna be prayed for, the other atheist can go on with their lives without being bugged anymore and they can finally focus on trying this planet truly a better place.

Any atheists that wanna join me in sacrificing themselves for humanity?

Oh, I still need a cool name for it, any ideas?

I will have no part of this monstrous abomination that goes against all things I hold to be good and decent.

That aside, how about the Cat Herding Society?

Did you think the first sentence was good? I really put some thought into it. I wanted it to seem even more impressive than Sho-nuff's muscles.

Hey that sounds like a great idea- because God wants all to come to the knowledge of the truth and believe that Jesus came to earth to die for the sins of the world- so if we are actually praying for specific people who do not know Jesus- God can and will convict your hearts. You do not mock God. Anybody out there that wants me to pray for them, join this group because i will- and by the way we will not wish or pray for you to go to hell, we will pray that you find eternal life through Christ. Obvious I am not an atheistic but I are ready to pray for you, first of all to stop mocking God, because those who do will be sorry.

You are way too late on this. I recommend reading the Principia Discordia, which refers to a now lost book, The Honest Book of Truth. I believe it was revealed to Malcalypse the Younger.

Also, I do not recommend sacrificing oneself as the mob may just show up and help your sacrafice along.

Pray TO us or FOR us Super-Markyyy? Makes a difference.

Though I hate to go against anything Bruce says, I'm in! I'll think about names and get back to you.

Actually, Sacrificial Lambs has a ring to it...

Why not name it, Fools Anonymous!
The Bible (God's Word) says that "the fool says in his heart there is no God".
You do realize, don't you, that you all believe in God more than most folks and are just ticked off that you can't change the FACT, like a tantrum throwing toddler who is trying to have his way? The evidence of your strong belief is obvious in, like most so-called athiests, your entire focus is about God.., trying to prove something, arguing about it, rediculing believers, etc., rather than going on in your godless walk. IF you didn't believe, you would go about your non-believing business and shut up!
If you continue this endeavor, you will one day be in the total atmosphere of NO believers in sight or reach. Then you will see who you are keeping company with. So sad!

You know that while you think you'll be making fools of others, you making fools of yourselves by doing this? You're trying to delude real religious people, and deluding yourselves in the process.

We already do pray for you. You don't need to make a group for it.

Oh it makes me cross when they say they will pray for me, a criminal waste of time. Can't they go and do something, feed the hungry or something

It normally doesn't bother me when a christian says they'll pray for me, but it does when they say it in their condescending "you're going to hell to burn baby burn" tone.

Even still, I have no interest in soliciting prayers. :o)
